More green than black. I ordered these because they said black cardamom pods, but I would consider them green as they weren't smoky or dry. Luckily I still had some of the black cardamom that I ordered from a different company for my recipe. I love the flavor that the smoky black cardamom gives to the food and thought since this company was cheaper than the other company I would try theirs, unfortunately you get what you pay for. The pods were very large and I thought that was strange, didn't look dried and when opening them and trying them there was no comparison ... sadly
