My Original Review was a glowing five stars and I'm still giving it 5 stars because it's a $40 neck that's made very well. Here's what I want to add... Fretwork - Level all across the neck but I had to take a needle file and dress the edges as they were sharp and we're starting to cut into my index finger. That's really my only complaint. I put this in a Monoprice strat copy ($80 when I got it) because I didn't like the logo and the stain looked washed out. The real fun is getting the neck shimmed to compensate for saddle adjustments. Without a shim I was pretty much down to the bottom of the the saddles. With the wrong shim in the wrong spot I was at the top of the saddles. Also, I was having trouble with strings muting out from the 12th fret up (12 to 22) and found that I had inadequate drop off angle on the neck. If your not sure, fret the string at the 12th fret and slide a ruler or string height gauge along from the 12th to the 22nd and the string height should increase a bit as you go up. If it remains the same your probably going to problems with the strings "plinking" or muting out.

What would make this a truly great deal is to offer the neck with jumbo frets. These frets are pretty small so if your into shredding you'll probably not be happy this this one.

Received my order today. I've got to say, it is a beautiful neck. The finish is a nice clear vintage yellowed maple. My only criticism would have to be the 10mm tuner holes seem to be slightly undersized. Not a big deal as I can run a drill bit through them to open them up a hair. The neck has a slight back bow...nothing a quarter or half turn of the truss rod won't fix. I can't wait to start my custom build!

At first was concerned when it arrived only wrapped in bubble wrap, no box all the way from China?! But got to give it to them, neck is straight as an arrow and fit well onto my Strat body. No complaints. I wouldn't hesitate to order from them again.

Not a $200 dollar neck. Not a drop in and go piece. Lacquer is tinted, great color but brittle. If it chips, you are at bare wood. No stain.
Be prepared to 'fit the neck'., Fender Lockers won't work, headstock too thick. Machine holes, a little too small, I reamed them and used Gotohs.
Forget 'staggered tuners'. The Maple is 'ROCK HARD', have some beautiful figuring on fretboard. Comfortable, fast perfect in those aspects.
You buy a $45 neck, they deliver. No Pains or complaints. [experienced builder]. I have 2 more on the way.You will have to do some fret work, simple, fast easy...

Very happy with purchase. High quality neck, nice woods, perfectly dressed frets(needed a little polishing) . Finish was thin so I refinished with 3 coats of tung oil. Final product looks and feels as good as neck that came with my mim Strat.

Overall construction and fret treatment and finish are excellent: HOWEVER; the peg holes are not drilled in the correct alignment so the strings will not go in a straight line from the nut to the tuning shaft: The peghead is not exactly like a Fender and alignment with the tuners is over an 1/8" too far off to the side: looks bad and binds. Wish I'd measured before I installed, but it didn't occur to me it was wrong. Basically unusable. Just make sure you check this first thing if you get one: Hopefully the one I got is the only bad one.

Well I want to submit my review of this guitar neck which was OK. I’m a first time guitar builder and of course I’ve ordered bodies from various companies, and I don’t pretend to be an expert by any means. I don't have the knowledge of some of the builders and experts on these reviews, but I’m not there yet.

The neck itself had a vintage 70’s look to it or a yellowish tint to it. The neck appeared to be very straight and the tuning peg hole looked like they were drilled perfectly. The nut look like plastic (which I was going to replace anyway with a brass nut) the dots on the fret-board looked good, and the frets looked good (But they seem like they were small compared to the one’s you get from a major dealer) the frets didn’t stick or feel rough as you moved down the neck. This neck fit tight and snug within the guitar body, the fret-board had a small dent in it (If I wasn't scalloping the neck I would have been a little ticked off), but I’m no expert at all, and while working with this I know for sure I couldn’t build a neck from scratch like this and if you can build a better one, then by all means do it.

I’m building an artist copy guitar (Yngwie Malmsteen Guitar) and this neck was going to be scalloped and carved anyway so I didn’t need a high dollar neck to get practice on. The nut was going to be taken out and I’m just learning to build a scalloped neck so what better a neck to try it on. For a first time builder this neck meets all your needs. It would be interesting to know what this neck would sound like un-touched. But judging by some of the reviews they say its sounds good and I have no reason to doubt them.

Everything is good except the right side is rough and unpolished.
