For the price, this is an excellent car stereo. It was easier to install than it was learning to use because it has so many features. I really like the USB port for playing all of my music from a flash drive and I also like the blue tooth connectivity for my phone. I am surprised at the quality of the radio reception because I was expecting it not to receive distant and college radio stations.

One month old now. Very good unit for the price. Easy installation in my 2013 Frontier S crew cab. Sounds great with JBL speakers. Controls are simple and straight forward. Touch screen was off when I first received it but once calibrated in the settings it works very good. It only has three wallpapers to choose from, there is no dimmer for night driving but there is a brightness control in the settings. I just leave it on standard as its not to distracting for me. One last thing. You only get Bass and Treble control, no mid range control, but it's not really needed. All blue tooth functions work as described.

Sound is great. Price is right. And we now have Bluetooth. Although, I couldn't figure out how to connect this unit to my '05 Toyota Sienna steering wheel controls; did not look possible. Better than our factory stereo but probably not as cool as some of the more expensive options out there.

Pros:
Versatile, with various methods of input.
Preset equalizer settings.
Multiple (4) background options; limited.

Cons:
Display is limited to preloaded options, and washes out easily in sunlight.
Memory/Battery holdup has issues; Loses time on the display, at a rate of about 30 seconds a day, and about 5 minutes over the course of 2 weeks.
Doesn't retain the last equalizer selection after shutdown.
When a CD or DVD is loaded, it will occasionally / randomly switch to that mode from another source ie; radio mode.
Mic for the Bluetooth could be better, doesn't provide enough gain. Hard for the distant end to hear you.
Does not allow for sound adjustments when streaming media via Bluetooth , or voice calls.

I bought this for two specific function, backup camera and USB/SD, and they both fail miserably.
I have a backup camera and used a monitor that was mounted over my rearview mirror. This monitor provided a clear and crisp display in all conditions. Since this monitor added weight to the overall rearview mirror, I was looking for another option and settled on the VR651B. To begin with, in daylight conditions the rearview camera display on the 651B is washed out and I cannot see anything. Second, if I changed the brightness to be able to see the rearview image then the main menu is saturated and unreadable.
I have older Soundstream double DIN units with USB/SD and this allowed me to put my music on this media and have hours of music in my car. On the older units, when I turned off the car while the SD card was playing music, then it would resume playing when I started the car again. This is not how it worked on the VR651. If the USB was playing and the car is turned off, when the car is restarted, the radio mode is the selected mode. The main display would still show that the USB drive is attached, but I have to remove and reinsert the USB drive after I restarted the car for the VR651B to actually recognize the drive and play the music.

Easy install, but screen started going black after the first day, started loosing sound on the second, having to send it back to the factory for possible replacement. Several of the functions the radio says it has aren't in the radio,(high pass filter, sub controls). Total waste of money
