We have three pugs and tend to be quite cautious about introducing new toys because World War III might erupt if one of them gets too possessive of the toys but this little monkey was so cute that I couldn’t resist. Plus, one of our little girls is called Monkey so I decided to give it a go. Also, I was hoping that if I didn’t put teats in it (as you’re supposed to) they might not get too attached to it.

All three of our dogs loved it. It looked really flimsy but our boy shook it and threw it around and generally acted like it was prey he had just caught. The toy helped him out in this by acting like a kind of bop bag with its heavy plastic base. He’d drag it around the room, drop it; the plush monkey would stand up and wobble and our little Bruce would bark at it. Then he would pick it up again.

He might have had hours of fun with this little toy except that Monkey took it away from him. And the lack of treats inside did not prevent Monkey from immediately becoming far too attached to it for comfort. She gently placed the plush monkey in the dog bed in the middle of the study, lay about three feet from it and would not let anyone approach her precious. So, sadly, we had to take it away. It took her hours to forgive us.

So if you have just one small dog, this is probably going to be a great toy for them—it’s certainly a lot sturdier than it looks and because it moves about, it will be a lot of fun for your dog. But if you have several dogs, the very features that make it a great toy for that one dog (it acts like it’s alive) may make it problematic.

Great toy and treat dispenser. It's pretty heavy duty and while the appendages may get ripped off eventually, the main use of the toy will still be functional. I have little dogs and thus far it has held up very well to their batting around, chomping and shaking. Cute and functional.

The wobblerz monkey toy is well loved and enjoyed by all 3 dogs in our house. We have 3 older med/lg herding dogs (7-13yr; 35-65lbs), all three of them have played with this toy and seem to enjoy it. We are easily able to put dog kibble and small treats in it. This toy does not hold a lot of food but enough to keep them interested and moving it. The food takes me about a minute to put in from open to close. This is not a way to feed our dogs but just something extra to keep them physically and mentally active. The monkey seems sturdy and I expect this monkey will last a long time in our house. I have used this toy to play tug with our Austrailian Cattle dog and Kelpie, the toy did not look any worse for wear (not really a good toy for tug but I was trying to test durability) although I expect that younger, more destructive dogs, or larger dogs would be able to rip the monkey apart (as any stuffed animal) eventually. I highly recommend. We may be getting another one of these for Christmas so they don't all have to share 1.

My dogs are a fickle bunch of furballs. I got this to see if they would be happy with a new toy that I could hide treats in so it gives them minutes of focus. The four of them had a good time for an hour playing with the monkey plush, dragging it throughout the house and throwing it down flights of stairs. However, when I added treats to the monkey plush, I was hoping that they'd spend time trying to manipulate the toy in order to get the treat out. Instead, the dogs continued to play with the toy as normal and one of the other dogs would be happy if a treat fell out, then would go back in pursuit of the plush monkey from one of the other dogs.

So I like the toy, although it fails to get the dogs to even care about treats that fall out of it. They like it because it's a cute plush toy that can be attacked and handled roughly. I think to them that treats somehow appear magically and not from the monkey. But they love this as a toy and can't get enough of it.

This item was given to me for my review.
The Outward Hound Wobblerz Monkey Plush toy is not a really large toy, but is big enough for my 55 lb. bordercollie/healer/whatever mix. Marcy loves thinking toys, and she really gets a kick out of toys with kibble in them. This toy is a roly poly treat dispenser that does not hold a whole lot, but seems to keep Marcy busy for more than the few minutes a lot of toys do. The treats do not come out super easily, so, for a smart dog, this is a good point. I would not give this to a dog that guts stuffed toys, like my other dog, because its life span would be short. My only complaint is that I had a hard time screwing the bottom on and off, and initially removing the plug that allows the kibble to be dispensed. I would have liked it to be bigger, so it can hold more, but Marcy is getting fat, so maybe that is not such a bad thing. A cute little toy for a bored dog.

We have 3 dogs in the household. They range from about 10 lbs to 23 lbs. This is good, because we have some small kibble, which is required for this Wobblerz toy to work. They holes would not allow normal size kibble to come out. Well, only one dog out of the three showed any interest. She had it figured out by pushing it with her nose and paws to make it "wobble" to get the kibble out. However, she always faced the front, I guess wanting to look at the face of the monkey. This is a problem, because the treat hole is in the BACK of the monkey. She did it a few times, but I guess she got bored when she had to walk/reach around to get the food. Maybe our dogs are just odd, but they did not care for it. I'm giving it a 3 because one figured it out, but she was also disinterested very quickly.
