Dry and not chewy......I buy these all the time but not from amazon. These tasted dry and stale. I tried a small bite from every box and they tasted all the same. Regretfully I had to dispose all of them. WHAT A WASTE OF $50+ dollars. I will never buy these bars from amazon again.

Yes it tastes good, very good in fact. How could it not with all the added sugar? Let's see what's in these sweet little candy bars. The granola itself has evaporated cane juice as the second ingredient. Red flag. Evaporated cane juice is almost exactly the same as white sugar. The two sugars are made the same way except for one final process in the refinement on the sugar. Google evaporated cane juice and see how it is just the same as white sugar. Evaporated cane juice just sounds healthier, but it's actually cheaper to make and is still 99% sucrose (empty calories).

Let's look at he the next ingredient after the granola: tapioca syrup (more sugar). I think I know where this is going. The next ingredient is chocolate chips of which consists mainly of, you guessed it, more evaporated cane juice. Then after brown rice flour we get brown rice syrup (more sugar) and immediately after that is invert cane syrup (sugar). 3 ingredients later we have yet even more evaporated cane juice (seriously?) for good measure and then toward the end of the list we also get molasses (sugar). Wow is all I can say.

So all in all you get a 35 gram bar of which 10g is straight away sugar. That's 29% of the total bar or 2.4 teaspoons of sugar. As a comparison, one Krispy Kreme Donut also has 10g of sugar. Other comparisons of sugar: a bowl of Trix cereal has 13g, a bowl of Cherios has just 1g, one bowl of Special K cereal has 4g, three Chips Ahoy cookies have 11g, a grape Popsicle has 8g, and one Quaker Chewy Chocolate Chip Granola Bar has 7g. Keep in mind also that the main ingredient in Nature's Path Dark Chocolate Chip is oatmeal which turns immediately to sugar (glucose) once it's digested so it will also add to your sugar spike.
