I bought this Nouske case together with the "MoKo Amazon Kindle Voyage Case - Standing Origami Slim Shell Case" because together they are still cheaper than the original Amazon origami case and I wanted to do a direct comparison of the two cases. I'm giving both the Nouske and MoKo cases 4 stars each because both are ok but have different pros and cons:

Nouske case
Pros: very lightweight and ideal if you usually hold the Kindle in your hands while reading
Cons: cover hinge is flimsy so when cover folded into standing position the kindle leans to the right and feels like it could fall when bumped

MoKo case
Pros: thick, rugged and solid and stands firm when cover folded into standing position
Cons: very heavy and tiring to use if you usually hold the Kindle in your hands while reading

When choosing between these two cases the biggest question is whether you usually hold the Kindle in your hands or prop it on a table. Nouske has the advantage of being lighter but Moko has the advantage of being firmer. One other point to note is that when folded into standing position the Nouske case stands more upright at 60 degrees while MoKo case reclines further back at 45 degrees, so consider your reading position relative to the Kindle when case is folded into standing position and whether you prefer 60 degrees or 45 degrees.

Happy reading!

Ever since I got my Kindle Voyage, I have been searching for a case that I could love as much as I love my Voyage. Perhaps it is the unique page turning aspects of the new Voyage that seem to make finding the ideal case so problematic but my search continues.

The Nouske Protective Cover comes close with its unique engineering design. It’s an origami style cover that opens in the traditional book style rather than the flip over notebook style. All four corners are protected and covers stay securely closed. The top cover has an eighth of an inch soft overlap on the edge which makes it easy to grab and open. However, It is not that easy to get the Voyage out of the back shell, which it is not a problem for me, since I rarely take my Kindle out of the case, but may be a problem for someone who likes to change cases frequently.

The cover is PU leather, polyurethane or bicast, which seems to be commonly used in tablet covers and has a nice smooth feel and is only slightly textured which eliminates fingerprint smudges. The inside is a soft microfiber. I put it on a postal scale and it weighs exactly 3 ounces, not the 1.6 ounces listed on the product page, but it does not add much weight to the Voyage. The PU fabric hinge between the covers is three/eighths inch wide and only time will tell if holds up well.

The one thing that I really liked about this case is that it does stand up easily and firmly. Touching the screen to turn the page does not knock it off balance at all. It can stand in either the vertical or horizontal position, depending on the fold. There is only one angle for each position. (pictures attached) Since I usually hold my Voyage to read, I also like the way that my hand was able to grip around the origami folds.

To my surprise, this 'new and improved' third party Origami cover, provided as a 'for review' item by vendor should give Amazon's own Amazon Protective Leather Cover for Kindle Voyage quite a competition. It's not as good as Amazon's but it comes very, very close and it's only 1/3 of the price or you save about $40 (note: the savings amount was true at the time I posted the review but prices fluctuate so make sure you do some price comparison shopping before you decide to place an order).

But, let's start with this product's original feature. Unlike Amazon's cover that flips over the top, steno pad style, when opened, this one opens the way a normal book cover would. It doesn't make a difference to me either way but, apparently, it does to some. So, here it is: choice.

The Origami part is very much like Amazon's. It folds differently, of course, but it's as easy and it turns itself into a reading stand. Pretty good. Like Amazon's cover, it now (see below) has the ability to turn on the Kindle when opened and the front cover is held magnetically to the back while reading.

Of course, there are a few trade-offs that explain the drastically lower price: 2 little magnets are visible which is no big deal to me, the on/off button which is an actual button on Amazon's cover is only a cutout on this one, so you can press the actual Kindle button, the material while nice plastic is not 'leather' and the Kindle snaps into the cover and is held there mechanically rather than magnetically which is no big deal, really, because you don't take you Kindle in and out of its cover too often.

Bought this case for my paperwhite because I was looking for an origami case, even though there are no reviews for the paperwhite version of this case.

Package came with:
case
alcohol wipey thing
screen protector
screen cleaner cloth
stylus

Pros:
- Fits paperwhite perfectly, I'm not worried at all about it falling out. Has a very secure lip to keep the paperwhite in place
- Magnetic on-off when you open and close the device works perfectly. There's a bit of a lag, but I think that's the paperwhite, not the case magnets
- Didn't expect to get all those other things with the case. I haven't bothered using the screen protector since I like the matte screen that the paperwhite already has. The stylus works just fine, but I probably won't use that much either since I won't bother bringing it around

Cons:
- Feels noticeably heavier in my hands (didn't weigh it) but not WAY heavier. I haven't tried holding it in my hand for long periods of time yet
- When using the stand to prop up the paperwhite vertically, the cover/stand is connected to the case part by a thin "hinge" of the faux leather that is a bit too loose, so it stands at a bit of a skew. I see this wearing out that "hinge" part unevenly, thereby lessening the lifetime of this case.
- Using the stand horizontally is very steady if you place it with the hinge part down, which is perfect when I'm lying down and reading portrait mode (since I naturally lie on my left side), but would be a bummer if you naturally lie on your right side.
- Paperwhite seems to only have one landscape mode, which happens to look upside down when you have it in the very steady horizontal stand position.
