True to form, OtterBox does the job. No sooner did I place the new Droid in the protection of the OtterBox I dropped the phone. This being the second phone I've placed in the protection of an OtterBox, I had no concerns even as I listened to the phone hit the pavement. Result...not a scratch on the phone OR the OtterBox case. Screen was intact and everything worked perfectly. Recommend an otterBox for max protection. Not too bulky although slightly more bulky than a skin. But then again, a skin is just a skin...no protection against spills and thrills.

Works great! Better than defender series, no dirty can get behind the screen protector because it's a stick on and its a tad thinner, plus it slides out of your pocket easier because of the hard plastic shell vs rubber

I thought it was great but it's not. A small crack appeared after dropping about 3 feet of of a desk and has gotten bigger and bigger over the last few days. When it's upside down, the crack goes from the left side of the case to where the camera is. It almost broke in half as I was trying to take it off. Won't be buying otterbox again. For this phone, it isn't necessary anyway. Don't waste your money. If it cracks at all, it will get bigger and you'll have to take the case off. I guess I'll try melting it back together.

I've used Otterboxes for my smartphones for some time now, with "happy camper" results all along. I upgraded to my new Droid Turbo 2 phone just a few weeks ago, and have been using the URBAN ARMOR GEAR case, until I just recently switched over to this new Otterbox. They are both excellent products, and I'll simply point out some differences that might help you decide which will work best for you. The Otterbox is slightly more difficult to install, but once you separate the inner rubber lining from the harder plastic shell, the process gets easier. Otterbox has small rubber flaps over the various jacks and ports, the other case doesn't. So one makes it easier to plug in the recharger cable, and the other is likely more water resistant. I wouldn't want to drop my phone in water with either case, but the Otterbox is probably slightly more protective in the rain. The Otterbox back side is hard, smooth plastic, whereas on the other case there are small rubbery knobs that add a little bit of skid resistance. I kind of wish Otterbox had this feature too. Both cases add a nice, more solid feel to the power and volume buttons on the side of the phone. Those phone buttons are small and thin, making them hard to feel, but with both of these cases the buttons feel more substantial and with better tactile feedback. The Otterbox ships with a nice looking scratch-resisting transparent protective sheet for the face of the phone, and the other case doesn't include this. I didn't put mine on my phone, but if this is important feature for you then score one for the Otterbox. I'm just guessing here, but the Otterbox feels slightly heavier and slightly bulkier in its dimensions that the other one, but neither case is as bulky as the older Otterbox I had for my old Droid Ultra phone. It feels very nice in the hand, with good heft and friction, yet slips in my front pants pocket comfortably. I like it!

I just don't think you can really go wrong with an OtterBox phone case....and when you are giving that case to a teenage boy to use on his phone, it's is so worth it. He loves the case and had actually picked it out before I had the option to be able to get one. It fits the phone nice, it is a little bit bulky for my older taste, but it's fantastic for a teenager. I look forward to seeing how well it holds up over time, but am loving it so far.

Great so far, and didn't take long to put it on the phone. Definitely trust this case. The port covers are different than I've seen before, as they only snug into the case instead of having a part that enters the port itself. Seems very secure though.

This OtterBox Commuter Case in particular is 2 piece case that protects against drops and the way the case is designed allows you to slip your phone out of your pocket easily and quickly. This case comes with a screen protector to protect your phone from scratches, dirt and dust. Not only does this case come with all this protection, it even comes with a one year warranty in case something happens to it, you are covered up to a year. This is another great OtterBox product and I am more than impressed.
