Just got the iPhone 6S to replace the iPhone 6 which had a shattered screen because my daughter dropped it. She had a "fashionable" case instead of one that offered protection. I could of taken the iphone to Apple and got the screen replaced for $129.oo, but nowadays it is sometimes better just to get a newer phone and sign your life away for another 2-year contract. This time I am going to MAKE her use a case that offers protection from drops and bumps.
OtterBox is known for great protection, however these type of cases have an open face so it is important to use screen protectors. The case has a lip so the actual face of the phone does not touch any surface when it is place face down on a surface, but you want to protect it from scratches, spills and anything else that could damage the front.
This is where the case loses a star. The newest type of screen protectors are tempered glass which offer maximum protection. With the new iPhone 6 models, the phones now has a curved edge and many of the glass screen protectors have gone to offering curved edge protection to cover the full face of the phone. These "curved edge" ones will not work with this case. The lip will lift the screen protector causing air gaps to be created (see attached picture). However, using a tempered glass screen protector that only covers the front of the phone and not the edges should work okay. It just bites because I already own the curved glass protector and they are not cheap.
Besides the issue with the curved edge screen protector, the case fits the phone like a glove. The cut-outs and raise buttons aligned perfectly. Being white I know it will have to be cleaned regularly. It has a nice feel in my hand and is not slippery. The purple wine color is pretty and the small touch of black on the back camera adds some contrast.

I bought this Otterbox case because I had a fantastic experience when I used Otterbox on my last cellphone. It was in prestine condition for three years, and when the case broke they replaced it for free. That being said, my last phone was in the commuter series, and this one is in the symmetry series. Since I just got the case today, I don't know if it will protect my phone as well as the commuter series case I had.
Also, as soon as I took the case out of the box, I noticed the pink color is not as pictured. The pink in the picture looks more bubble gum. The pink that arrived is more neon and doesn't look as good with the bluish color (which is accurately portrayed in the picture). When I bought this case, I read other reviews of different Otterbox cases where people also complained the color wasn't accurate, but since this wasn't the issue last time I bought a case from them, I brushed those reviews off. I guess I should have paid more attention. Not sure if I am going to keep this as the pink color is quiet loud.
