I am big fan of single malts and recently i discovered that one can use metal balls or cool stones to intact flavor of whiskey without diluting it. As soon as I see these whiskey stones online I ordered them.

Product reached me in a very beautiful and fancy pack. The whiskey stone case had 9 small stones in shape of cubes and a small pouch to hold all these stones together in fridge.

The quality of stones is very impressive and in first glance one will like them a lot. I washed all the stones properly, dried them and kept them in freezer for 12 hours. But when i used them with my 15 year single malt, i was very disappointed with its performance. These stones do not cooled my drink down as I expected and in less than 30 minutes my drink temperature is same as my room temperature. I waited for at least good 10-15 minutes to have its effect but in vain and at last i had to use ice instead.

All the starts i am giving is for the product quality and decoration and no stars for performance.

I received this product on discount price for my honest and biased review.

This is a fantastic set for the drinker in your life, whether yourself or a friend. They come nicely-packaged and set into the box, but after taking them out you can keep them in the nice velour-like baggie that came along with them. There's no odor or taste to them upon pulling them out, which I was worried about. They're a nice size and weight, almost like dice, but you can tell they've been smoothed and rounded down so as not to break the glass they're put into. I popped mine into the freezer for a couple hours before using them but I have to say they worked great! There was obviously no dilution and they still had a fair chill to them once I'd finished my whiskey. I don't think they were still cool enough for a second dram, but that's why you buy extras ; ) They washed up quickly with water and a small amount of mild soap, completing the idiot-proof process of using these awesome whiskey stones! This is my first set of whiskey stones and I have to say, they look so much cooler in person! I have a little mini bar and when I'm entertaining friends, I like to have items that will be a big conversation piece and this is one of those items. I love how they are 100% sandstone and they look really great in my glasses. They don't give your drink the cold effect that regular ice will but they won't melt down either so it is all about which one you prefer...a really cold drink that will eventually have water in it or a cool drink that has a taste that won't change. It's a no brainer for me!! I also like that the set has nine stones, this means I can use them in multiple drinks, if I choose to and there's an included pouch for storage. Overall, a good cool product that keeps the party going!!

I have heard such great things about whiskey stones and other alternatives to ice cubes that I was very excited to be able to try these discounted in exchange for leaving a review. There was so much build up and I was honestly very let down by these. We followed the package instructions for first use: we washed them very well since they came with some kind of residue on the stones, we let them dry completely and then froze them for over four hours. I put them in an ice cube tray to keep them clean in the freezer. When we put them in our drink, they did not cool the drink at ALL. We followed the instructions that stated 3 cubes would chill a 2oz pour for up to an hour. These seriously did not chill the drink at all. What was worse is that the stones left a nasty, sandy residue on the bottom of the drink that was nauseating and we ended up throwing the drink out. We will not be using these again and we do NOT recommend that anybody buy them.

One other potential problem I see with these is that if you do not completely dry them before freezing, the water inside the stone will expand and over time cause these to break, thus also leaving soapstone in your drink. Overall we were just so disappointed with these. We will be using these as garden decorations and buying stainless steel ones instead.

My wife loves these stones she uses them a lot and not just for alcohol. They stay cool for very long periods of time, almost 2 hours to be exact. I would recommend this product to a friend and my wife is thinking about giving them as presents for birthdays along with a good whiskey of course.

Didn't work as well as I wanted to. I tried it multiple times and the whiskey stones kept getting warm within minutes of putting in a room temperature drinks. I was hoping this would have worked as stated and was able to keep my drinks cool or at least cool my drinks down a little bit. I've tried using more than asked for and it just hasn't worked. I had high expectations and it just wasn't good enough to warrant the purchase. Even after multiple washes it sometimes leaves sediment in the drink and it makes the drink less appetizing.
