I constantly personalize items with a set of metal stamps. It is a tedious process and not exactly practical on many different types of material. Clearly I cannot use a hammer and metal stamps on glass... But I can't use it on alot of items.
This particularly method of engraving involves a battery operated cordless engraving pen. I will say it takes several attempts to really get the hang of it - not too much pressure but just enough pressure - to end up with a smooth end result.
But - if you can hold a pen you can do this and end up with some awesome products. It simply takes 2 AA batteries and even comes with a spare tip. It is small and completely portable - takes up only as much space as a pen.
This engraving pen works on glass, metal, wood and plastic. And it sells for a very reasonable price. As soon as I turned it on I kept looking for things all around the house to actually engrave.
In the video above I engraved a cocktail shaker and an acrylic tray. Easy as can be - a great gift for a teenager or DIY person in your life.

I purchased the cordless engraving pen for my grandson. It was the perfect gadget for him as right before finals at the end of the year he lost his very expensive calculator for school. His mom had to scramble and buy another at the $120 price tag. I am happy to report that he has engraved his calculator and even his ruler in order to easily ID it if it disappears again. Just the big initials he put on there will deter those who borrow things permanently.
He says it was so easy to use. He put 2 AA batteries in it, pressed the button and the labeling began. In addition to the pen he also received an additional engraving bit as a bonus.
If you are looking for a way to product valuable schools supplies like your tablet, laptop, calculator, etc. This is the perfect cordless engraving pen.

This cordless engraving pen is so handy especially with back to school right around the corner. I can engrave wood, metal, ceramic, glass, and other surfaces. It runs on 2 AA batteries that were easy to install. I love that this engraving pen is cordless so no annoying cord to get in the way while you're working. The pen is about the size of a chunky marker so its easy to hold and work with. The one button operation is easy to use too and the pen only works when the button is held in so less chance of any accidents. This engraving pen works just like a ink pen, you just write with it like you would an ink pen. I can draw names and initials on all of our valuable and important objects so they don't get lost or stolen. I can also engrave designs on objects for fun crafting and decorating projects. I received this product in exchange for my unbiased review.
