This product works the best. It will take off or loosen double sided tape on automotive body side moldings. I have never had a problem with it damaging the molding or paint on an automotive application. I have used this product to re-install body side moldings, vent visors, emblems, and nameplates.

Fantastic product. I've been detailing cars and trucks for over 30 years and one persistent irritant is removing adhesive residue after you remove moldings. If you want a clean look without any moldings or you want to replace your protective door moldings, you have to remove the existing sticky and difficult "glue." I use a heat gun to remove the old moldings and then use 3M General Purpose Adhesive Cleaner to quickly and thoroughly remove the remaining adhesive. Your choice: you can remove the old adhesive by rolling it off your vehicle with your thumb (it really works, but also really hurts!) or you could use some paper towel and easily use this product. I've tried many other removers; this is the best on the market. Before you apply new molding on the same surface also apply 3M Adhesive Primer.

You have to put a little rubbing into the tough 3M Super Weatherstrip Adhesive but it will come off and leaves the paint alone.

I have used this product for years. It is a multi-function product and can be used for almost anything that has gunk on it. Origionally, I used this to remove the adhesive build up from "stick-on" sanding discs, back when they were not self-adhesive and you had spray the disc adhesive on the backing pad before use. There are many uses in the garage that range from removing stick on wheel weights to removing stick-on trim pieces to removing road tar, or simply de-waxing before touch up paint. I am sure it's no good for you, but you can remove band aids and EKG patches without pulling your hair out in the process (definitely not to be done all the time, but then hopefully this isn't the type of thing that happens all the time, either).
I also use this to clean surface before using stick-on anything to ensure good adhesion.

This product is great!. Removes any adhesive fast and with ease. Now days everything you buy has some kind of sticker or stickers attached to it. You peel the sticker off and the sticky residue is left behind. This stuff cuts it right off and removes it with out a whole lot of effort. I Highly recommend it!
