Alrighty, I'm going to be the critical one here. I see this is all 5 Stars and all, but these reviews are missing one VERY important factor that comes with eating these bars.......THE FLATULANCE!! Goodness help you all! I gave my husband a couple of these after buying a bulk box, and will now relay his honest opinion to you all:

Wow, well where do I begin? It all started out innocently enough really. My wife handing me a couple of these granola looking bars in an effort to help me cut down on my terrible eating habits. (New Year, New Me, right??) Well I gobbled one up and went on my way to work. About an hour later I started to notice that I had really constant gas. What is this sorcery I thought to myself. It really didn't end there, I started feeling super bloated, my stomach hurt, and the gas........it kept on coming. I came home 9 hours later, still blowing butt all over the place until finally going to sleep. For all I know, I may have farted all night in my sleep!
Ok, day 2! After an incredibly relieving bathroom visit, I grabbed another bar and headed out to work again! Right about the time that I swallowed the last bite did it finally hit me that this devil bar may have been the very reason for my uncomfortable day before! I felt betrayed......I wanted to immediately rewind the last 5 minutes of my life and un-eat that bar!! Since that wasn't an option, I drove on. I timed it...it was 12:14pm when I swallowed the last bite. By 12:47 the first seepage of gas happened. Oh dear, this really WAS the problem!! Why did my wife give me these rectangular pooh gas makers?? This second day of Gasmageddon was even worse than the first. I experienced events such as:

These taste pretty good but I have a qualm about the main ingredient - chicory root extract? What? They taste a bit like dried out chewy granola bars and the chocolate chips help you forget that you're eating something (supposedly) healthy, but - why chicory root extract? Is that a safe and good source of fiber? I can't help but feel as though they cheated a bit to get that 35% of your daily fiber into a bar this size. I would think that if chicory root was such a great source of fiber, that I would have heard of it by now. You never know though. At least they're edible and inexpensive.

I bought these once and NEVER again.

I thought they would make for a great healthy snack for my fiance and I, so I grabbed 2 boxes at the store.

We tried them and they were so delicious. That night, my fiance started getting extremely painful feelings in his stomach and the worst gas imaginable. I thought he was just falsely blaming the bars because I wasn't experiencing it... YET.

On the second day. We both had a bar for breakfast and a bar for lunch. He didn't have the pains anymore but I started to get them. I felt so nauseous and overly bloated.

I went to bed only to wake up at 3 AM with gut wrenching pains that felt like someone was slicing my intestines with razor blades. That's not an exaggeration. I was almost keeling over because the pain was so excruciating and it sounded like there was a thunderstorm in my gut.

I've never experienced anything like this, and it only happens when I eat these bars. They are definitely something I am staying far away from, and you should eat them with caution.

After experiencing these symptoms I did some research on the Internet and there are soo many people experiencing the same thing.

I did give them 2 stars because they are tasty, but definitely not something I would ever recommend.

These are VERY good - my kids even like them! They are sweet and good for you too. The size is handy enough to keep in my purse in the event of a hunger emergency :-) These make great snacks and are good to put in the lunch box too. I get these in bulk from Sams normally.
