Update 27October2015: Seven months of use now, daily thousand words typing, and still going sweet. I do have to note that the spacebar and shift key, the same ones that developed the squeak so soon after my first use, still need a bit of pop-out and grease every couple months or so, but everything else still clicks away like a champ. I also regularly use compressed air cans to get the grit out from under the keys.

Not a single key has shown any surface wearing... something an old, dear, favorite Saitek (later MadCatz) keyboard couldn't boast - the WASD began rubbing off within six months.

I wish to also share a recent "Ah HAH!" moment I had with how this is backlit, and why the Primary Characters are above the SHIFT Secondary Characters. The realization came when I was using another Blue Switch Keyboard (from Havit) that had the characters in their normal position (Secondary on top, Primary on bottom), and noticed how only the top Secondaries were clearly backlit. That is when it dawned on me about the LED placement on these, being basically the same, and thusly the give-take decision: What would you rather have fully illuminated, Primary or Secondary characters? It's subjective, for sure, and I have to say I do prefer indeed having the Primary being the lit one, i.e. the "/" being over the "?" (an example of oddness I have been using for the past seven months, but now fully understand the reasoning why).

Of course, as a touch typist, it's not like I actually LOOK at the keyboard... so sort of a moot point in a way. ((LOL))

Lastly, have to note the currently lower price since I purchased. Hah, bonus 4 u!

I looked at them all - yes I did.

Alright, so my old review is out the window now. I'm speechless.

Pros:
Affordable
Nice weight
Doesn't move on table
Clickity clacky keys
Palm rest is easy to attach and detach. Doesn't rattle when snapped on.
Awesome aluminum plate
Love that there are no gaps on the plate, all the keys are raised above

Cons:
Not a big fan of the plastic key pull
A metal rattle from the wider keys because of the support wire to keep the key from tilting

So before, I got really unlucky and received a DOA (Dead on Arrival). I was pretty upset, so I went to customer service as soon as I could. Before the day ended, I received a response saying that they would replace it. So I provided my invoice for proof of purchase, and gave them my address. They sent me a prepaid label and I used that to ship them the keyboard. Eight days later, I'm typing with that keyboard right now. Now here is where it gets crazy. When I opened the box, I thought the contents inside the air wraps were a bit too tall. This was true as I unveiled a gaming mouse from Azio, the smile I had literally dissapeared, and I was in shock. I've never seen anything like this, and even when I dug to the bottom of the box, there was a small little roll of Smarties! Thank you Azio, you have done good by your customers!

I'd like to preface this review by stating that I've never been a huge fan of mechanical keyboards (or their costs) for neither typing nor gaming. I decided to give this keyboard a shot because it has the gamers' favorite - blue switches. A lot of gamers swear by these keys, saying that they enjoy the tactile & clicky feedback, so I figured these were the best place to start. I looked at the K70 that my friend has and really liked it, but did not like the 140$ price tag. I stumbled upon this one and it looks identical (even better with the brushed aluminum finish underneath the keys, in my opinion) and greatly preferred the price to performance ratio. Upfront: It was a highly enjoyable keyboard that performs well under pressure, or for daily typing use.

VALUE
When shopping around for mechanical keyboards, as I stated, I was surprised by a lot of the prices. I was even more surprised when I saw this one with blue switches for 90$. I figured it would be a cheap, Chinese knockoff, but Amazon has a great return policy so I checked it out anyways. I was 100% wrong. This board feels premium immediately upon getting it. A very nice, classy and flashy box for a gaming keyboard, very nice packaging, and the build quality is simply superb. You might see the price and think this board is cheap, but it's only low-priced - It's not built cheap at all!

BUILD QUALITY
The build quality of this board, in my opinion, is simply unmatched. I love the aluminum body underneath the keys. It gives the board a rock-solid feel, and keeps it heavy enough to resist sliding during some vigorous gaming. In fact, it's relatively difficult to TRY and slide this board on the desk once it's lying there.

I have had the chance to use the Azio MGK1-RGB Keyboard for over two months now, and I have genuinely enjoyed using this keyboard for every moment. I have had the opportunity to use many mechanical keyboards in the past, and truthfully this Azio keyboard ranks very high among them. Azio has done a great job delivering “no-frills” product to gamers who want a high quality keyboard without the downsides that ruin the “expensive keyboard” experience from other manufactures. Let me expand.

Just from the outside of the box the keyboard speaks quality and style. As you open it, you get the sense that Azio has spent effort making the unboxing experience pleasant. They include some goodies such as a UV coated wrist wrest that feels and looks great, a plastic key cap remover, and a clean and easy to read instruction manual. Once you remove the keyboard from the protective plastic covering, you unmask some of the best keyboard engineering there is. All I could think was how accurate the “elegantly fierce” slogan on the box was. Let me tell you what I am talking about. While most competitors use plastic faceplates on their keyboards, Azio has gone ahead and included a brushed anodized aluminum faceplate in a tasteful gunmetal grey color. There is a raised silver accented “AZIO” logo between the two navigation key sections. In the upper right of the keyboard is a volume knob with a satisfying and tactile, alongside a mute button, each of which adjust the system volume accordingly. Just to the left of these are three LED’s that indicate the various locks on the keyboard (Caps Lock, Num Lock, and Windows Key Lock). The Windows Key lock disables the windows key by pressing FN + Windows Key, and will disable the Windows Key so you don’t accidentally open the start menu in the middle of a game.
