Too Many Problems

Sorry to say I have to give this product a poor rating because of the problems it has created with my email. I switched from Kaspersky to McAfee because Kaspersky was blocking both incoming and outgoing emails from my private email account - not webmail. The endless issues, having to reset the program at least once a week often more, and no customer support. McAfee worked fine for the first few months but over the past two weeks it has been blocking my outgoing mail on a daily basis. I had to have the computer checked by my ISP tech support - the only "fix" we could make was to turn off the McAfee firewall and install a separate firewall. The online chat support from McAfee was almost as bad as Kaspersky. Only reason I can give this product a "2" is that it does block problems.

McAfee has really blown it. They are pushing the notion of downloads rather than a CD but after two attempts by Amazon to the fix the problem and multiple communications with McAfee and their Indian customer service people who also tried to get more money out of me I just gave. I feel completely ripped off use this product at your own risk.

It's good enough

Overall, this software is pretty good. It doesn't seem to slow my computer down, there are not a ton of annoying pop up notifications and it has found and removed one malicious item from my PC. The downside is, although I'm pretty computer savvy, this software is difficult to navigate. When I want to run a scan or view the history or change settings, I almost always have to spend a few minutes figuring out how to get to the right screen. Also, this software is pretty basic- I've had other antivirus products in the past that included many more PC maintenance/scanning tools in addition to the antivirus- some of which were pretty helpful. This is pretty much just scan and remove software.

Great antivirus!

I've had a subscription to McAfee in the past and I liked them. The software doesn't make my laptop slow like other antiviruses. They seem to do a good job at scanning and keeping my laptop free of viruses. I haven't had any problems with anything and the software works very well. The initial setup was very easy and simple. You go to the indicated website and then enter the key code and then you are asked to either sign in or sign up. Then download and install and then you are good to go. Recommend this product

It's a bad..really bad product. ..absolutely is an scam...they trying to say..that my computer is infected with a dangerous virus..and the only solution is if you allow to check your computer for only 100 dollars. ..really. .the only problem was...my computer was brand-new. ..Scam don't buy

A good value in Virus protection

A good value in Virus protection. However - in the two months that I was without virus protection - I was careful when opening emails - and upon installation discovered I had no viruses so they are not as prevalent as they lead us to believe!

McAfee recognizes more stuff than competition

McAfee now an Intel company has better resources to protect and innovate than ever before. I prefer a different version, but I bought this for my mother who is retired, has 1 PC, and I feel she will be safe.
