After reading many reviews and worrying about how loud and annoying this thing was going to be, I bought it anyway for the sake of not having to wind up the mobile anymore. So far the purchase was well worth the ten bucks.

As for how loud it is, I agree it seems much too loud but a simple piece of tape over the speaker fixed that in seconds; nearly muted the thing. Others have said they cut the wires so there is no sound at all, especially because of all the Christmas music, but I really don't have an issue with the music since I'm too busy trying to do a million other things while she is napping to focus on what song is playing through the monitor. If you can sit through the same baby shows over and over all day then you can let this play away in the background of you day for the short nap they may or may not take. There are many different songs and they only play for about 15 seconds each and yes, it can sound a bit mechanical but is nothing when compared to the wind up one.

It has an on button (green) and an off button (red). No timer and it doesn't stop on its own after a while. It works for me because I simply use it at nap times along with her white noise machine and should I feel like I want to turn it off I simply tiptoe into her room and shut it off; not a big deal.

This is a really awesome replacement for the crank operated motor that came with my son's mobile. My mom and I would have to come back to the crib and crank it up every few minutes to keep the baby soothed. I thought there had to be a better solution and found this. It has tons of songs but it was strange to find that alot of them are Christmas songs. Still a great buy though

We have a new grandson and this Baby Crib Baby Bedding Battery-operated Musical Mobile by eCandy fits the bill exactly. It is very simple and easily can be added to any design for a mobile. There are only three small reasons this did not get a 5 star - first, there are no instructions. You have to figure this out on your own or ask the company. Second - The title is wrong. This is not a Mobile, but it is a mobile insert, that goes on top and you hang what you feel like underneath. Third - the hook does not much.

The correct answer is YES, it does play 35 songs. To test, you just keep hitting the green on button. If you just hit the green button once, it will start playing and go through the song list. Beautiful songs (at the end of this I'll list them). Each song has a verse or two, then on to the next song. I really like this mobile top and think that it will be a fantastic addition to any child's crib.

It takes a small computer phillips head screwdriver to open the back to put the two AA batteries in. The songs are as follows:

This is great for the mobile I was making our baby. It was easy to put together and easy to attach to the crib, which had a relatively thick handle (2.5"). The music is soothing and we tested it on my newborn niece, who tried to pull at the toys, but the mobile was very sturdy. It was a great price and I was able to make the entire mobile for less than $20!

This is so much better than a wind up one. It is very easy to use, as well. Green button turns it on and red button turns it off. These all seem to be made from the same manufacturer as they all look and operate exactly the same. The biggest issue is the music. It's horrible. We already have a white noise machine so, we opened ours up and killed the music box.

I read the reviews on this product prior to purchasing unsure about how I could handle the Christmas songs mentioned thinking, "Well, my baby doesn't know that the songs are Christmas. How bad could it be? ". There are 11 Christmas songs. The weird thing is that the rest of the mix is really quite good. Jury is still out on my tolerance for the Christmas songs, but my child seems to love it. It's slightly loud, but not over the top, and the rotating mechanism is smooth. I wish the Xmas wasnt there, though.

Update: we couldn't handle the Christmas songs so I cut the cord to the speaker. Now it rotates silently and we play our own music. So much better!

I like this a lot because my baby loves her mobile so not having to keep twisting the original one up every 30 seconds is nice but the music is pretty loud and there is no way to adjust it. I may put a piece of tape over the "speaker" part to make it quieter. There is a lot of music that plays on this including here comes the bride and every Christmas song imaginable and happy birthday haha
