Hey Amazonians!
I wanted a screen with low footprint in terms of installation and space due to my living situations (apt). I researched A LOT (Amazon, Ebay, Projector Central, AVS Forum, etc), and discovered a lot of affordable options, but there is ONLY ONE EDGE FREE fixed frame screen that is budget-friendly: ELITE SCREENS AEON. I was quite active in the AVS Forum discussion on the Aeon screen, and after pulling the trigger, let me just say that I am SO GLAD I went with the Aeon.
Quality wise, the screen is excellent! The frame and build are quite beefy and it gives you the impression that this will last the lifetime of many projections. I knew fully well before purchasing (from AVS Forums) that these are not laser-precision cut pieces, but it is not impossible to get the pieces lined up flush. It will take a little bit of tinkering to get the corners perfectly flush, but I found it to be unnecessary because once the frame is wrapped with the screen material, you (or anyone else) won't be able to tell. If you have the time or are a perfectionist, tinker away. If not, then don't because it's probably not worth the time.
As for picture quality, it is nothing short of AMAZING. Contrast is at least 20x better, colors are true and accurate, and brightness was so bright that I HAD TO turn my projector down to eco mode (or my eyeballs would hurt!). And because this is a fixed frame, there are absolutely no wrinkles. The screen material is surprisingly thick and stretches well. Just make sure to tension out the material slowly and evenly (you’ll be surprised when it keeps stretching and stretching).
Last but not least, shipping was fast and the screen was impressively packaged.Read more ›

The screen while not simple to assemble was not particularly difficult either. About an hour of work start to finish and she was hanging on the wall. I have this paired with a Sony VPL40hw 40es and I can say that the results are very impressive. Went with the 120 inch and for under 3k I have a huge screen. The screen looks great even with significant ambient light, I decided against the velvet boarder and it's quite the show stopper with the boarderless look. Although it did require some tinkering to get the project lined up right without the forgiveness of a black boarder. Attached are couple of pics. I would definitely recommend it from my experiences so far.
