Perfect for a trip to Africa - used it often and the quality is far better than most advertised on amazon!
Exactly as described, could be softer but it's really what I was wanting for my collection of head gear
He loves it, says it's really warm and wears it all the time.

How to wrap a shemagh around neck
1. With the shemagh completely open, match one corner with the corner diagonally opposite from it, folding the square in half and into a triangle.
2. Pull the folded edge of the shemagh over your forehead, positioning it somewhere between your hairline and your eyebrows.
3. Pull the right side around to the left so that it wraps completely under your chin. Pull the end over your shoulder and toward the back of your head.
4. Grab the leading or folded edge of the left side with your right hand and pull it all the way across your face, toward your right side. Unlike the right side of the shemagh, this left side should drape across your nose and mouth, not under your chin.
5. Use a tight overhand or double knot to secure the shemagh in place. This knot should be at the back of your head, roughly around the back center, and it must be tight enough to keep the shemagh on your face.
6. Adjust the shemagh as needed so that the material covers the top of your head and lower half of your face without covering your eyes. After this step, the shemagh is complete.

✏️ Quick thoughts to supplement my video demonstration.

    - Surprisingly large when unfolded.
    - Easy to wrap around my face and neck. Plenty to work with.
    - Beautiful green color.
    - The threads somewhat easily unravel, so be careful snagging them on objects (e.g. car keys).

Note: I was given a sample of this product in exchange for a review and demonstration, which of course has no bearing on the honesty of my opinions regarding the product. Hope demonstration and test helps!

📍 Bottom line: would I recommend this product to one of my friends?
👍 Yes, absolutely, especially for the price point.

Very dull and faded colors, material texture makes the pattern almost pointless.
Material is extremely thin, course, and very uncomfortable. Scarf smelled of something unspeakable.
The overall quality was closer to that of something priced at nearly 10% of what I payed...

I do not feel as though I have received a quality product in any sort or fashion.

Great, lightweight material shemagh. Color runs true to what you see for coyote brown. Seems to be a bit longer and thinner than my chocolate brown from a different company that I use as a scarf. With this product you can wrap it around your neck twice as a neck scarf, my other one only goes around once but is fuller and has a double thick center ( read: warmer). This scarf will be great for hunting on semi-cool fall days and summer usage.

Very functional item in many different ways. Quality stitching and no gaps in the weave or loose threads. This is the thinner and cooler style which is more versatile for use during activity.

I expected a built-in collar, or at least directions on how to use it properly. I was able to go online to get instructions. The quality is OK - just not what I expected. My fault for not reading description better.

This thing is awesome, I just returned from a campsite that had wind chills around -7. It blocked the wind from my face and neck, it did exactly what I wanted it to do. To my surprise it was much much bigger than I expected which turned out to be outstanding!

I received the olive drab (with black contrasts) colored shemagh, and I've been enjoying it as a scarf with my fall sweaters. Shemaghs are traditionally worn in the Middle East as protection from sun, sand and wind, and they're also popular with outdoors-men (and women) who use them as camouflage or as protection from sun or sharp branches.

This shemagh is well made, with a woven pattern instead of stamped or painted. It's plenty big enough to wear in several ways other than as a head-wrap. It's light-weight but not too thin to look nice as a fashion accessory. Especially for the price, this shemagh is a bargain!

    Features:
    - 100% lightweight woven cotton, not printed
    - large size (43"x41" not counting the fringe)
    - perfect for use as scarf or head wrap
    - Comes in brown, olive green and tan

I received a complimentary Explore Land shemagh for testing and review purposes. I wasn't asked to leave a positive review, nor was I paid or otherwise compensated for reviewing this product. Look at the hundreds of reviews I've written over thirteen years and you'll see that I work hard to give an honest opinion of the products I review.

I have 5 shemaghs of different colors from 5 different companies on Amazon, and this one by Explore Land is one of the best. It's full sized and arrived without any defects or stains. The fabric is not too thin as is in some of the cheaper shemaghs, and felt soft to the touch even before the initial washing. My only (slight) disappointment is that the photo of the one I ordered depicted a darker brown base color but it is actually more of a tan. At least it was close.

First, I did receive this product free for the purpose of testing and review. So, why the Amazon VP tag? This simply lets you know that I actually did procure the item via Amazon. While I recognize that a review of a free product is fundamentally different from that of a product for which one has paid, I do take the review process seriously and so I am hopeful that my findings will prove helpful to you in your decision making. If you have questions about the product, feel free to post them in the comments section and I'll do my best to answer based on my own experience with the shemagh.

What you're getting with this order:
    (1) 100% cotton 43 x 41" Shemagh

What is this thing, and what's it supposed to do?:
A shemagh is essentially a large, lightweight scarf used in the middle east and made popular in the U.S. by Special Forces serving in Afghanistan and Iraq. It can be worn in several different ways, two of the most popular being over the head and face with just the eyes exposed and in a triangular style around the neck (see Chris Pratt in Zero Dark Thirty).

    Does it work?:
I'm a backpacker, and though I had seen shemagh's worn by soldiers on TV, and then by air soft enthusiasts who do their best to look like those soldiers, I hadn't really considered its functional uses in the outdoors and how one of these might be handy to have on one of my backpacking trips.

While using it for backpacking might be a very different use of the shemagh than normal, it has made for an interesting and useful piece of equipment. I like it because it's a light weight item but has several different uses that make it worth taking along.
