I found this 7-minute grill to be good for a few things, and a real hassle (or unusable) for others. It's important to have the right expectations. First off, I found the grill excellent for grilled cheese or panini style sandwiches. It also did well enough with PLAIN chicken breast and even a small filet of salmon. However, the grill isn't all that deep, which means you can't put anything thicker than about .75 inches in there without creating problems. Second, unlike other reviewers, I found the grill very hard to clean if you use any sort of marinade on your meat. I tried some marinated chicken breasts and the sauce burned onto the surface and was a major pain to clean off. The grill plates CANNOT BE REMOVED which was also the fatal flaw with the George Forman grill I used to own. This is a major design flaw that makes using a grill like this one pretty annoying unless you never use any sort of marinade, which eliminates a lot of potential uses.
Bottom line, if you want a shallow, single-use panini grill or grilled cheese maker, this Oster will do the job. If you only plan to grill your meat without using marinades, again, this Oster is fine. But don't expect to be able to branch out and try other things unless you enjoy working very hard to clean a small, difficult to work with grill.
