This is a beautiful swaddler, made with organic cotton (yay!) and a wonderful idea. As a teacher trained in developmental therapy, I know that infants - and particularly those who were born by C-section - need swaddling to help them feel secure and calm. Swaddling not only helps the child now, but in the future. I can't tell you how many children these days have very little connection to their physical body and, I believe, through my training and studies, that this can be averted by 1. making sure baby is swaddled regularly in the first months
2. carrying baby in Moby wrap or similar against the parent's body regularly in the first months 3. giving the baby as much "floor time" on tummy and on the back as possible (rather than keeping the baby in a "seat" or car carrier or swing), so that baby gets a chance to explore his/her body and practice the vital developmental movements of pushing up, finding hands and feet, rolling over, scooting and finally, crawling.
The act of wrapping them regularly in the first two or three months before they are rolling and scooting and crawling can have a positive effect on them for years to come. These swaddlers are one step beyond a soft receiving blanket, which is what I used when my babies were little. The positive thing about them is that they are easy to use. The one caution that I have about them is making sure that they are not pulled too tightly.

We have an infant daughter and she likes to be swaddled. They like things around them - it's why they will sleep for hours in their car seat but wake up as soon as you put them in the crib (at least mine does). Swaddling with a regular blanket can be tricky. It can be difficult to do and then easily come loose. It can also be an issue because you are not supposed to put a blanket in with the baby in the crib.

I liked these. It made it so much easier to swaddle her. You just put her in it and Velcro and you are done. I still don't put her in it alone in the crib at night, but just to use while I am holding her. It also can make it easier to breastfeed because sometimes she inadvertently loses the latch because she is moving around so much. This seemed to calm her down. It's nice that it is a neutral color and will work for a boy or a girl. I also think this would make a nice shower gift. I would recommend them.

What a wonderful invention swaddlers are!

My babies loved to be swaddled, but the blankets I once used had to be redone over and over as they never stayed in place very long. These SwaddleMe swaddlers make everything so much easier! Velcro to the rescue!

Initially, the velcro piece that is just below the baby's chin area was very hard to 'unstick.' But, after washing, it loosened up some and also was a bit quieter. The design is very clever...and the softer side of the velcro is closest to baby's skin, so you don't have to worry about scratching them from the rougher side. Also having a 'pocket' to place the baby in makes swaddling so much simpler than flaps of blankets to fold and tuck in everywhere. The SwaddleMe is super easy to use -- pretty much intuitive!

The fabric is soft and comfortable, and the ivory color makes it gender neutral. I think they're great!

If you know a new mom or mom to be, do her a huge favor and get her a swaddler. As an older mom, it amazes me how many younger moms and dads today don't know about swaddling their baby. Babies feel more secure, they are happier and sleep better when swaddled. They stay at a comfortable temperature, and they are much less likely to jerk in their sleep and wake with a start. When I was a new mom, we swaddled with regular baby blankets, and this is quite an improvement. They wash well, wear well, and fit by size and weight. Newborns especially sleep better when swaddled, and many older babies do too. They are lightweight, but really keep your little one warm and comfy. A great gift idea, especially for those sleepless parents you know.

These are absolutely the nicest swaddlers I've ever seen. The cotton cloth is ultra-soft, like a baby's washcloth. I kept touching it over and over again amazed at how it felt. The fabric has a lot of stretch and give, so baby isn't too constricted, but still secure. I love that the closures are velcro, so there are no hard buttons or snaps to push on the little ones skin while they sleep. It also makes it much easier to close since you don't have to wrap to a certain spot where the closures meet. It also gives a little liberty to adjust the wrap as it stretches a bit with use and baby is between sizes. The stitching is very tight and clean. No loops, threads and strings hanging off of these out of the package.
I'm just really pleased with the quality.

SwaddleMe makes really nice products. . . and this one is one of them. The organic cotton is a very “neutral” color which can be easily used for both boys and girls. It washes well. SwaddleMe makes items for all different “stages” as you will see above. I really love their print swaddles, though they are not “organic cotton”. The packaging, which can be different depending from item-to-item (and even for the same item), is always nice and easy to wrap when giving for a gift.

The only thing I wish they would change is where they make the items. They are Made in China, and it would be great if they could make them in the USA.
