12 tablets in a single serving is a lot! I have been taking blue-green algae tablets from a trusted manufacturer, which contain Spirulina and Chlorophyll (one of the main factors in Chlorella), and the serving size has always been just one tablet.

I also did some research to know what I was getting with this product. When it comes to blue-green algae, I asked myself, "How does Spirulina differ from Chlorella and other blue-green algae?" Chlorella is more difficult to process than spirulina, due to the fact that it has an indigestible cellulose wall. Therefore, chlorella requires processing before it can be made available for human consumption. It first has to undergo a complex process in order to mechanically break down the indigestible cellulose wall. Most types of blue-green algae just come with chlorophyll rather than chlorella for that reason.

Both spirulina and chlorella fit under the classification of superfoods, so they both have a rich nutrient base. SEE PHOTOS However, spirulina has a higher percentage of protein, iron, potassium, zinc, calcium, as well as vitamins B1, B2, B3, B6 and B-12. Spirulina also has a higher percentage of beta-carotene, as all eight essential amino acids. While chlorella has a greater level of chlorophyll (hence, the dark green color).

I have been using spirulina for a long time. I usually add it to my morning smoothie. When I saw this product* with the added chlorella I was excited. Chlorella has been shown to be helpful for immune system support. Since it is the wonderful season of colds/flu, I have wanted to add in supplements that will help my immune system fight off all the nasties. I really like this product. I love that it is in a convenient tablet form. I was freaked out about having to take 4 3x a day, but that has not been an issue. Although the tablets smell awful, I haven’t had issue with the taste, or any side effects. I love that I no longer have to add the spirulina to my smoothies, as it always made the smoothies taste a bit icky. Now I just swallow my tablets and drink my yummy smoothie. I also love that this brand does not have binders/fillers/additives. This is a product that I will continue to take as part of my daily regime to increase my overall health and wellness! *I was given this product at a discount in exchange for an honest review.

Chlorella & Spirulina in a combo pill! Excellent! Usually it's one or the other. I like the combination since both are 'super foods' and highly dense forms of nutrition. Like most Chlorella & Spirulina, the serving size is quite a bit... 12 tablets.. which seems to be normal for these types of supplements. What's nice is the manufacturer/seller states that these are free from heavy metal contamination, pollution, chemicals, pesticides and herbicides, also no binders, no fillers, no coatings, no additives, and no preservatives. Nice packaging... maybe a bottle would have been nice so it can fir better in my cabinet, but different is good...I did receive this at a discount from retail for trial purposes at the request of an honest review, which this is.

Chlorella spirulina tablets Foodtopia

Good product, my husband is taking this for its detox properties. He has been having a funky BO kind of sweat in this muggy Lousiana weather that is clinging to his shirts and can foul the laundry if one gets through. In addition to adding lavender eo to his body wash, and cutting back on protein especially no red meat, he has tried activated charcoal supplements and now this chlorella. Charcoal works great and eradicates the odor problem, but, it adsorbs the good as well as the bad and he has to be careful to schedule taking his other supplements well away from the time he takes the charcoal; and it is also not supposed to be taken constantly long term. This chlorella is not quite as effective for our purposes, but it does help cut down the odor and does not have the restrictions or complications of charcoal. So I think he will cycle back and forth between the two products, and when takes the chlorella we will have to oxiclean pretreat his clothes and wash them separately to make sure of no odor. But it does help, before we got the problem figured out and before he was taking this or charcoal, we were losing shirts altogether, we were having to throw out some of his shirts that the oxiclean couldn't deodorize. At least with this, it doesn't get that bad. The only downside with this one, the dose is 12 tablets, thats a lot of pills to take but at least they're small and easy to swallow.
