The writing isn't the greatest but its a cute movie for kids, think of it as Indiana Jones meets Home Alone. Kia's character was my favorite, she was smart, prepared, & sassy (she had the best lines in the whole movie). I hope the sequels have more of her in them. Though for a movie where the animals are the main characters I did find it odd that none of them, not even Timber, were named in the credits, only the people who played their voices.

The kids liked it, but it had nothing for older audiences: acting was poor, plot was trite, special effects were unconvincing. But it had talking animals (no special effects there). So a lot like watching something from the late 1970s.
