I purchased this for my mom who has an iPhone, I personally am an android user so my review will be on the packaging and description of the item based on the way it looks. My sister stole her cord so I told her I would get her a new one. I really like that it is 10 feet in length, this is perfect for her because she is recovering from a stroke and won't have to worry about being tethered too closely a wall outlet. She can lay in bed and use her phone while it is charging and won't have to get up to go to the phone if someone calls, (it can easily lay right there beside her). I would like to note that you do not get the wall outlet, just the cord. The cord is braided and that was my rain reason for the purchase. She has run into issues in the past with these types of cords coming apart. With the main element of the cord secured inside the braid, she won't have to worry about it getting messed up as quickly. If she wanted, she can also use this cord to transfer photos of her granddaughter and her dogs to her computer to edit and share on Facebook.
It came in a mylar backed back with a clear front so you can see the product. I noticed another reviewer's cord came in a box, not sure why the difference, but I don't guess it really matter.

I purchased this on December 9th. I loved the cord, at least until it stopped working. The end that I plug into the phone has become frayed just below where the plastic ends. It no longer charges consistently. I leave this plugged in next to my bed, so I only use it to plug it in when I go to sleep.

Just to get the required stuff out of the way... I was provided this cable free of charge in exchange for my review. If you look over my other reviews you will see I truly give unbiased reviews--so much so that ZeroLemon cut me off after I left a less than stellar review of one of their iPhone 6 cases.
On to what matters... I really like this cable. I have about 7 different lightning cables from varying manufacturers, some which I purchased and some provided to me for review, so I feel like I have a good basis of comparison when I say I LOVE THIS CABLE. It is as good as my prior favorite if not better because of the braiding.
PROS:
~ It's MFI certified. Obviously the product description states that, but I was able to verify it with Apple personally. These cables are manufactured by a larger Chinese company ("YellowKnife" http://www.globalsources.com/si/AS/Yellowknife-Cable/6008839927814/Homepage.htm & http://hdmi-cable.en.alibaba.com/) which seems to specialize in generic cables for a wide variety of applications, including mobile devices. This is in no way a knock against the cable because this seems to come from a "higher end" line than their other mobile accessories. I believe this explains why it is sold under a different name as I have found that other high quality cables I like are also sold in the same manner; a large Asia based company sells under a few different, perhaps more appealing to the US market, names to brand their different product lines.
~ I love braided cables because they feel so much nicer and more tactile than the rubber/vinyl ones. There is a reason high end PC builders have been sheathing their internal cables with braided materials for years. I also find they tend to do better in long term durability.Read more ›
