This Gatekeeper provides extra layer of computer security and no body can snoop your data while you are away. What it does is it locks the computer automatically while you are away and it unlocks it when you are close to the computer and it is super easy to use and set up.
My work computer automatically locks in with certain period of time and typing in password sometimes is inconvenient and mostly if you are working on a fast pace environment and you keep moving around. My PC will auto locks on a certain time of inactivity and need to log back in, with this Gate Keeper device this is a perfect solution and makes logging in to a computer lot easier and save time. This device will lock and unlock your computer and works both for Mac and PC, I’ve tested with latest Windows 10 x64 and Mac 10.11 and works flawlessly.
Gatekeeper requires software installation and takes less than a minute to install. The software can be downloaded from gkchain.com/download.
For initial set up you just need to pair the device to its USB Bluetooth dongle and once it is paired you can set your proximity sensor so the lock key receiver would know if this device is near or far so it will trigger the lock/unlock functions. Also this can be use as a tracker in case you misplaced your keys where this device it attached you can easily find it using a smartphone with gatekeeper app installed.

Revised review: Gatekeeper is still highly unreliable with new firmware, but finally survives a lid close. Locked while I typed this review!
It will lock up four inches from the dongle, yet not lock from across a large building. It will lock while you are actively working, with the dongle inches away. And that's with the distance setting two notches less secure!
See the photo. I was typing on my laptop in bed, with my Gatekeeper on the bed next to me. In the pho <AT THIS POINT BANG, IT LOCKS UP!> Yes, while telling you about it locking up yesterday, it locked up again today!
Like yesterday, while typing THIS REVIEW, with the GateKeeper right next to the dongle on the bed, it suddenly locked while I was typing. See the photo. That's just now. The GateKeeper is with my badge on the left, and the dongle is in my laptop on the right. Is the setting too tight? No, it's two clicks less secure than default, for this exact reason. So, with this setting, I can walk all the way across a large office building and it does not lock, but as you can see, it locks a few inches away at home.
And that's in addition to the fatal bug it shipped with, where it would permanently freeze when the laptop went to sleep. That shows how poor the beta testing was.
How can you trust a security product that was this poorly tested? Will a computer virus be able to scan your USB ports, find the GateKeeper, and get your password? I just don't trust it.

This is an interesting little device. It's about the size of a keychain. You get the keychain which unlocks your computer when in range, a USB dongle, a carabiner, and a neck strap. To get started you first need to download and install the drivers from the manufacturers website. Once that is done, you plug in the USB dongle and place the key next to it to register it. You can then setup various options for how you want it to function.
First, you should set the distance for which it should function, then you can set if you want it to lock your computer automatically when you walk away with the key, login automatically with just the key, or login with both the key and a passcode which is considered 2 factor authentication. I've set mine to unlock only when the key is placed very close to the USB dongle. This means it locks/unlocks the computer only if it's setting right on or right next to the computer. If I move it even 3 feet away it locks. You can obviously set the range to be further away. If you are using the neck strap you should experiment with what range setting works best for you.
There is also an iPhone and Android app that's supposed to help you find the keychain if it's lost. It uses Bluetooth on your phone to pair with the keychain then you can locate it by signal strength. You are also supposed to get notifications if you and your phone go out of range of the keychain. The out of range alert should help so you don't leave it behind. I've found both functions to be very spotty. First, I had trouble pairing it with my iPhone. It simple wouldn't show up but I discovered that if you go out of range or unplug the USB dongle on the computer it will finally show up.Read more ›

If you travel with a notebook/laptop computer into environments where you worry about your security, Gatekeeper is what you need. You may feel safe enough to leave your computer behind when you go to lunch with the gang but maybe you worry about forgetting to lock your computer. Worry no more.
First make sure you have a password on your computer operating system, Windows or OS/X. Then install the GateKeeper software and plug in the USB key and configure them. Now when you walk away from your computer and the GateKeeper dongle is on you, the computer will lock itself. It's simply, like magic. In the software you can adjust the distance away you have to be for the PC to lock. That way if you tend to get up and walk around your desk but don't really go far it won't annoy you and lock too often. Another setting is if you give GateKeeper your password it will automatically open when you return. That's what I like, it just takes all the guess work out of it, you are in front of the computer, it's ready. You get up and go away, it locks. You don't have to do anything more than keep the dongle on you. You are provided a tether to wear around your neck if you want to wear the dongle and make a fashion statement about security, too.
If someone gets the bright idea that they can bypass the security by removing the USB key, nope, instant lock. This is one of the simplest and most effective security systems for a personal PC, I've ever encountered. If you're an IT person and are thinking the same there is a network version available so it can be implemented across a company. I'm very impressed by the ease of use, relatively easy setup and just plain, it works experience.
