I was worried my 80lb boxer/pit mix would bombard through the door regardless, but am pleased that the door buddy has held up for a week so far! With that being said, I imagine it's good to go forever, as she seems to believe the litter box room (which is currently my bathroom until my cat and roommate's cat get to know each other) is inaccessible now, and my cat can go in and out with ease. She pushed down baby gates, but I'm so happy this product actually works! It's so much easier than having to deal with a baby gate AND putting heavy boxes on the other side of the door.
I also bought my roommate one for her door, where her cats and litter box are, and it's worked so great! I'm shocked and pleased with how well this keeps my dog out of kitty rooms!

I was thinking this would be the absolute perfect solution to keeping my children and pets out of certain rooms I'd rather them not be in at certain times and I was right. I purchased this "Door Buddy" door strap in the green with polka dots color but I love there are other patterns to choose from, I personally like them all. Everything but the door is included to set up your new door buddy product. On the back of the strap and on the back of the lock there are very strong adhesive squares that will attach to any door frame or wall. The strap is adjustable which is great because all doors and areas that you need to use your door buddy might not be the same.
This strap is so small and is attached to an area that is truly out of the way, you don't have to worry about setting up gates that might keep one animal out but not another. You children can usually climb or learn to climb gates as well but having this strap there in nothing to climb, there is just a small crack (that can be adjusted) but will still be to small to fit a child through.
I've noticed that some say it rips off wallpaper and paint, I personally haven't moved it and don't intend to, so I am not sure about that part. My house is older so if it did, it personally wouldn't be a huge problem but I can understand it being not so great in newer homes. I think that this strap concept is super great, I feel it works fantastic for where I have it install which is on the bathroom door, it helps me keep the litter box from becoming a snack box for the dogs (gross I know), while still allowing my cats to have access to their bathroom and food.Read more ›
