Mine has a 2014 date code, but advertised 2015. The hermetically sealed clear sopakco outer bag was torn and resealed with packing tape. The original contents appeared to be mixed and matched. Very displeased! Description said: "This MRE was manufactured in 2015 and will last a minimum of 5 years if properly stored in a dry and cool place. Each meal contains a main meal, side entrée, snack, condiments, coffee, utensils, and napkins. Each meal comes in a sealed, unopened package."

Flavor Name: Chili and Beans Verified Purchase
I ordered the Chili with Beans MRE, and even though I was a bit skeptical considering there were no other reviews, I went for it anyway. 4 days after my ordering it, it was delivered to my PO Box. I tucked in pretty much as soon as it arrived. The only thing I found intolerable was the rice. However, other people (not everyone) in my family did like it, so it's really just a matter of opinion. I just didn't like the gloopy texture. The rest of it was pretty good, and the chili kind of tasted like cafeteria chili (which I like). The only things in the picture that ended up being something else were the dessert and the cold drink mix. I received a fudge brownie, and the flavor of drink was orange instead of lemon-lime (Can't say I'm upset, ha!). Regardless, I'm sure that these would be good for camping, although they are a bit pricey. Overall good quality and nutritious. And a day later, I'm still alive so they probably won't make you sick :)
