Gibbs brings his great technical rapping to his third album. While not really as conceptual as his last album, Shadow does't go for that same type of effect. The tracks are, for the most part, dark and cold, as we've come to expect from Freddie, but they also manage to keep a polished, well-produced sound as well. This isn't a perfect album, however. The one track that wasn't very good (in my opinion) was Basketball Wives, which has Freddie singing for whatever reason. I'm all for artist experimenting with their sound and trying new things, but in this case I didn't really feel like it paid off. Freddie's such a competent MC, regardless of the beat style, I just thought it was unnecessary of him to do a track like that. The last song was also kind of a let down. Not bad, but just kind of "meh", it's an okay song. I just wanted a stronger album closer. Those are my only complaints. The bonus tracks are worth checking out too.

Overall, favorite tracks:
Insecurities, 10 Times, F*ckin' up the Count, Narcos.

Great album from Gibbs overall.

This album is great and can be listened top down.

My favorite songs above but those are songs that appeal the most to myself. The other songs I would give a solid 4/5 but to others they might be a 5/5.

Honestly no one else has had a sound even close to Freddie since Tupac. And when I say close I mean a unique ground level approach to storytelling.

In essence, keeping it real.

Freddie Gibbs has been on a roll lately in music and in life,since dropping 'Pinata' w/Madlib to having one of the illest EP's of the year and recently becoming a father Gangsta Gibbs seems to have it all working in his favor so when i heard of his latest album dropping i was looking foward to it 'Shadow Of A Doubt' is Gibbs at his finest with trap ballads, a boom bap banger w/Black Thought and reflective joints its one of the most well put together albums this year check it out it won't dissapoint,salute.

Freddie Gibbs never fails to impress. Gibbs is probably one of the more consistent artist out there. I'll keep this review short and sweet. Great charisma, content and mic presence from Gibbs. Great, diverse production and just the right length to keep the album on repeat. Overall the album has a dark and gloomy street anthemic feel. Big drums, big bass accented by Freddies gravely voice adding punch and power. If you're into good gangsta rap that stays true to the tradition of gangsta rap without sounding dated then you can't go wrong with Shadow of a Doubt (or any other Freddie Gibbs album for that matter).

l've been listening to Gibbs since '08 and his skill set is among the best in rap. The voice, his countless flows and the ability he has to effortlessly apply them over any type of beat is incredible. I thought his project with Madlib would be as good as it gets but this album shows Freddie has grown sharper than ever. This is the best rapping of his career, the production is excellent and his featured guests(Black Thought, Gucci et al) make sure to bring their best lest Freddie will make you look bad. If you know Gibbs' work then this album delivers everything you expect and more.

Gangsta Gibbs. This album should be a classic and fa sho one of the best of 2015. From the production, the lyrics, and his very prominent delivery you definitely will be satisfied. My favorite track is Freddie Grody but the album slaps from beginning to end!
