These are high quality gloves that feel very warm. They fit fine in my small hands (I measured the length from the base of my wrist to my middle finger at 7 inches) when the top cover portion is pulled back. The finger exposure is optimal to me and the wrist area is taut which I prefer. However, when I throw the top cover over my fingers, there is a lot of room (too much room in my opinion - almost an inch slack). It's almost like it's not exactly proportionate with the length of the thumb.

For this reason, and that the fingers don't have the palm patch material, I wouldn't use these gloves to drive as my grip don't feel secure. But I would happily wear them just out and about in the cold.

Hope the images help y'all with how the velcro looks like.

I may order another pair just to have on back up. My husband loves them. He does transfers between 4 Ace Hardware stores in a bog box truck. So he needs to write and load/unload freight. They work great for him....and he is one of those guys who would rather NOT wear gloves-have to take them off.on to write etc...these are the perfect compromise! and we got to -35 here in Columbus, OH....
He is 6ft and about average weight for that height-220.
It was actually the 2nd pair I ordered....the 1st was for my brother-a motorcycle mechanic. He needs the warmth and the dexterity to fix a cycle in his shop at home or while working at Iron Pony.
They are both very busy and hard on their outerwear-but BOTH pairs are holding up very well....even washed my husbands...and let air dry. no problems there either. (sometimes I will wash and put in the dryer for a few minutes just to get the shape back, then air dry.
so if that is close to the size of your guy-get some, before I order them all!

I have at least ten pairs of gloves leather/suede/wool and merino. I'm writing this in the end of summer kinda keep that in mind. Straight out of the package I detect a slight hint of a petroleum smell on them. This smell always goes away on most products like this. Nothing to be concerned with. At least my military wool glove liners did anyway.

I'd say these are a little better than a 1/4 inch thick on both sides and very dense weave to them. The wrist gussets are about two inch deep and the one size fits all, fits my Medium size Mens hands very snug so if you have typical Large hands there will be some break 'in required so keep that in mind as well.

The leather palm and thumb reinforcement is a simple brown suede sewn patch which is durable and I give these a 5 star rating right out of the package and pretty good for most winter outdoor tasks but someone mentioned using these in delivery work and I can see that if the hands aren't subjected to wet or snow for extended periods for those situations I'd look to nylon or Gore-Tex construction. In other words Driving Yes, Delivery have to think about that. Still nice enough gloves/mittens.

If you have to work with your hands outdoors in sub freezing temperatures, these will save your marriage and your home, because there were moments I considered quitting my job I was so cold. As a photographer, I've found these gloves fit a need I didn't know I had. Cold weather photo shoots are much more comfortable now that I'm not taking my gloves off completely whenever I need to adjust settings. Overall, these are great gloves.

Purchased these when I was looking for a pair of flip over mittens. I originally went with a different (slightly more fashionable?) brand, but the knit was poor and the gloves were not warm. These gloves are much warmer, and the thinsulate lining is soft and cozy around your hands. The knit is tight and the yarn is warm. I've been very pleased with these minutes even in the zero degree New England winters.

I thought I wanted a button closure, but after receiving these I am very happy with the velcro: it makes it much easier to secure the back of one glove if your other hand is in the full mitten. Similarly, I was looking for a pair with a thumb flap but after researching them, it seems a commonly reported problem that your thumb tends to slip out of the thumb hole.

I am a female with medium-large size hands (for a woman) and these fit my hands well, except that the pinky space is a little long. However, I don't really text, use my phone, or do anything useful with my pinky so that isn't a problem.

The one con is that I've had the gloves for about a month and the thinsulate lining is starting to separate from the fold-over pouch. I can fix this myself with a few stitches, but a more secure fastening would have been beneficial.

I can understand why so many have given these mittens a high score. They are relatively warm and comfortable. However, the insides are lined with Thinsulate (a good thing). But the major negative is that after using them for the third time, the stitching came undone and it makes it nearly impossible to put the mittens on without a lot of manipulation because the Thinsulate liner is all balled up inside of the wool mitten.
