I purchased this a week ago as a replacement for an 8gb ipod that just wore out. I am pleased with my purchase. It took me a little bit to realize that the touch screen responds to gentle touch as opposed to a tap. After I figured this out, I have had no trouble operating it at all. I have other devices I can use for photos, videos and such so I have not tried to load anything but music on it but music was the primary reason I purchased it. The settings are easy to use and it is small enough to fit just about anywhere I need it to. It came with a case, screen protector, stylus and a portable charger. I have used everything but the stylus. The case an the screen protector fit and work well. The charger holds enough power to fully charge not just the ipod but my phone which at the time was at 28% in just one go. Very pleased with this package purchase.

Good product. It came with defective earphones, but the company contacted me immediately when they heard about it! Couldn't believe it. Who does Customer Service like that now-a-days??? It's incredible! I got a brand new pair of earphones with a few days. Everything works great now.

I don't own a Mac so there's always a learning curve, but it's a nice product with good quality sound. All I wanted was NOT to have to take my phone when I walk to listen to podcasts and music. It's nice just to have a very light weight device to relax to and not have anyone texting and calling, too.

Very impressed with the company selling this device on Amazon. Would definitely buy from them again!

I mostly love the new design, certainly, I love the very long battery life! My only complaint is not so much related to this iPod, but rather the lack of accessories that were available for previous models. Specifically, I used an Apple Universal Dock to listen to my 4th generation iPod from bed and with headphones and remote control. There is no similar Universal Dock for a device with the new lightning connector. I was able to work around the problem by use of Apple's 30-pin to lightning adapter, and a third-party bridge device that fits into the Universal Dock, and accommodates the lightning adapter. With all of that, the new iPod fits onto the Dock (though off center, because the lightning connector is not centered on the bottom edge of the iPod), and the remote control is still able to perform the same functions as before (pause/play/volume search fwd/rev).

My only other complaint is that when listening to audiobooks (which is mostly what I use the iPod for), the progress bar showing the current position in the book is chapter-based, as opposed to book-based on the prior iPod model. In other words, when listening to a book with my 4th gen iPod, the position was relative to the whole book, showing how far I had progressed, and how far was remaining (in hours, minutes, and seconds). On this new iPod, the progress shows my position IN THE CURRENT CHAPTER only. So if I want to switch back and forth between the two devices, the business of finding the corresponding positions isn't straightforward. It can be done, obviously, but requires some tedious computation to convert from book position to chapter position, or vice versa. I plan to speak to Apple shortly, to suggest that they make this a user configurable option, so one could choose which interface is preferable.

Otherwise, I love everything about the new iPod.

I love it - it is great for listening to music and counting steps. One day I could not get anything but a black screen. Before panicking, I googled how to turn on my iPod - I found that if I held both buttons at the same time it did "reset" itself. Not sure why this happened to begin with - it did erase the steps I had taken that day - but the songs were all still there.

Very easy to load my music from iTunes. Small and thin, making carrying it while exercising a cinch. Decent memory, but I wouldn't waste space on pictures or videos. There are better devices for that. As a matter of fact, an IPod touch with a camera and wifi is only $50 more.
