I review many Lego sets on Amazon and wanted to make sure that people understood what this set is. This is a small, mini-figure scale gingerbread-style house that Lego gave away as a late-November 2015 promotional item for customers who bought $99 worth of goods directly from Lego. Lego listed the value of the set at $9.99, but it was purely a promotional item.

This is a great little house. This is Lego's second gingerbread house, ever, if you include a small mini-build that they had in December of 2014. The house measures 8x8 studs large, features windows made from colored translucent 1x1 bricks, a hinged door, and sweets everywhere. The structure uses a number of profile bricks (bricks that look like they are made of bricks) which are useful pieces to have. This is a delightful little set.

This was a nice lego set for the holiday's, I know I payed way too much for it. Not sure what it would have been in the lego store when they ran the promotion, but my son is a huge lego fan and thought this would be a great holiday tradition to put together as a family each year.

It was very expensive, took the kids only a few minutes to put together, and was extremely small…

I was very disappointed with this item; am sorry I purchased it; definitely would not purchase this item again.

I was so excited about the idea of putting this together with the kids year after year instead of throwing away the candy gingerbread houses every year. And this is cute, but please look at the size. It. Is. Tiny!!! Definitely too expensive for a Lego set of this size. Disappointed.

Around Thanksgiving, Lego offered this set free with a $99 order (it was never available directly for sale). The quality turned out to be a step above the usual promo items; combined with the very limited availability, the result is a set that's somewhat expensive given the number of pieces. So what do you get for your money?

This is a minifigure-scale gingerbread house with several moving parts (the front door and roof open). It has almost 300 pieces, but many of them are quite small. My wife and I spent about 45 minutes building the set and thought it was a very nice display piece for the holidays; we'll probably build it each year as part of our holiday preparations. From a collector's perspective, the set contains a number of pieces that have only been used in 3-5 other sets, but none that are exclusive to this set only.

If this was a regular set I would expect it to retail for around $25, but as a limited time promo I doubt it'll ever be that low; given the low availability, high quality, and seasonal appeal of the set, I wouldn't be surprised to see the price hit $100 for Christmas 2016.

My 4 year old and I had so much fun putting this together. We live in Florida and winter time is tiny ant season. one crumb of food and a whole army swarms in and it hard to get rid of. Never mind a whole gingerbread house. This was a great alternative to give the ginger bread house look and the quality time we had building it, without worrying about attracting ants. After Christmas we took it all apart so we can put it back together again next year.

Look...before you go thinking bad about LEGO and think they are the ones charging $50 for this tiny set...get your info straight first...This as offered as an exclusive set for people that spent at least $100 at the LEGO site during a certain time period....LEGO never once put this set up for sale....it is an exclusive set...never was meant to be re sold...so you now have an opportunity to purchase the set here..not at LEGO for yes..a much higher price.....that is normal for exclusive or retired LEGO sets.....this set will never lose its value..again..it is an exclusive set..if you don't like it once you get it..save it til next Christmas and sell it for double what you paid...as a LEGO collector....I know it will def hold its value

This is a great set but it was a set that was a freebie that came with my order from Lego.com and was not for individual sale. This thing is itty bitty. Not worth $45 at all. Don't get me wrong, I gave it 5 stars because it is adorable and a set my son enjoyed adding to our holiday display but not for $45. I wouldn't recommend purchasing at that price, you will definitely feel like you got ripped off.
