This is a very durable product. It fits my Chevy Equinox very well. Cover extends over and pass the windshield and lower than the wiper blades and onto the hood of the car.
I was skeptical at first that it would damage the car from reviews on other covers that had magnets that scratched their car. Not these! You might see where they moved from if you're sliding it but it might just be wax or dust on your car. I didn't witness any deep or noticable scuffs. Not to say that it should be dragged around on the car on purpose. There are 5 magnets. One on each corner and one on bottom center. [correction]
The material isn't insulated, but it does seem to be very water resistant. Put it on first day and it rained. Took the cover off and there was some mist behind it but the rain clearly didnt soak through. It can be easily wiped down with a towel to dry it, folded and put away inside one of the mirror covers that acts as a pouch [I thought that was a cool idea as I initially opened it up].
It's not a very thick cover. Less than a 1/4". The material between the windshield cover and mirror pouches is elastic so even if you put it on and close the doors it's adjustable. I found that I could wrap the cover far enough to close inside the door along with the beaded pull and lock string that tightens the smaller cover ends for the mirrors. I'm not saying that someone who really wants the cover will carry a knife/scissor to cut the strings, but wrapping the cover inside the door is your best attempt at a theft deterrent should you have to worry about that.

So everyone knows about the east coast snow storm. I'm in Northeast PA. The cover didn't stay in place very well during the storm Saturday.Read more ›

This cover is great if it stays on BUT the magnets are not even close to being strong enough to hold up in strong winds. The iceScreen DeluxePlus kept blowing off today (top flipped down and bottom blew upwards) in the Northeast snow storm. Fail! Disappointed! I think iceScreen should send me 6-10 strong magnets to make this work correctly. For the price, it should hold in place!!!
