Just a great collection of music....if you are not Spanish speaking, don't let that bother you because the songs are so beautiful they could be sung in some ancient language and the music would be just as lovely. My fav cut is "Nunca Mas" but all of the songs are just great and the musicians do a great job. The producer/mixers did a wonderful job, as well. I would like to see this group live sometime as I believe they will have a Summer tour. The lead songstress has a voice that will test those JBL speakers you have...or may have....

Another great CD by La Santa Cecilia. Discovered the LA band at New Orleans Jazz Fest in 2015. Have since seen them locally. Unique sound and personality. Tremendous dance band. Can't wait for more.

I discovered La Santa Cecilia when I was living in Oregon, missing everything Southern California. I heard a snippet on some public radio show on world music. I was hooked from then. This band just gets better and better, politically aware, but not preachy, break up songs that make you wanna dance and I'm about to buy myself a Rosetta Stone just for their Spanish lyrics. They play cumbias, good old rock and more, sing in English occasionally, Spanish more. The musicianship is stellar. They are exactly what a band from L.A. ought to be. Buy this, buy the rest and get tickets next time they are in your town, because LIVE is how to hear and see them.
