I never even knew there was an alternative to my traditional plastic cat carrier, which took up a lot of precious space though I rarely needed to use it. I don't have much storage where I live so, when I saw an advertisement for this soft-sided collapsible pet carrier product, I was interested.
I'll admit I was also a little apprehensive. Would it be sturdy enough? It absolutely is. Would it be a pain to set up? It absolutely is not. There are basically two sets of two poles with spring loading that easily connect to ensure the sturdy rectangular shape. I read another review that referenced this product as having a dome shape on the top (with an accompanying photo) while photos from other reviews showed the rectangular shape I was expecting based on the product picture provided by the vendor. I'm pleased that the carrier I received looks exactly like the vendor picture once the two sets of two poles on each side are connected.
The 28" really is actually roomy enough to fit both of my adult cats if needed but is a perfect size for one cat to stretch out. My 45 pound dog wanted to get in on the action but, as expected, she was too big for the size I purchased. I have to say it is pretty compact when collapsed. I was pleasantly surprised at how large and roomy it is when set up.
What I especially like:
- It's very compact when collapsed and stores easily.
- It comes with a soft removable (and washable) liner.
- Looks like this crate would be easy to clean if one of my cats used it as a litter box by mistake.
- Windows every where (it seems so much less cage-like than my old cat carrier).
- There are two zippered openings (front and top).

I have never been a fan of the traditional plastic pet carriers. When not in use, it's hard to find a place to hide the plastic carriers. I was happy to come across this carrier. It is available in a number of sizes to handle a wide range of pet sizes.
The carrier was shipped flat in a cardboard box. Upon removing it from the packaging, I was happy to find that it has a rigid bottom. The carrier sets up very quickly. There are two rails in the top that fit together with a spring loaded collar. In a matter of seconds the carrier was set up and ready to go. Despite having mesh on all four sides and the top, the carrier is surprisingly sturdy. The carrier can be accessed either in the front or the top through a zippered panel. The top also has a zippered pouch to stash some treats. There is also a removable pad in the bottom of the carrier. It is a great option to be able to remove the pad in case the pad ever becomes soiled. While the pad is not super thick, it does provide some cushioning. Certainly better than having no padding in a plastic carrier. There are two carry straps with a velcro strap bundler on top. The carrier is made of quality canvas with reinforced corners. The zippers open and close smoothly. When collapsed the carrier is only about 2.5 inches thick which makes it easy to store. I have a large cat who was never a fan of the plastic carriers. She walked right in this carrier as soon as it was set up.
I received this pet carrier at a significant discount in exchange for my honest and unbiased review. I would not hesitate to pay full price for this carrier. It offers plenty of ventilation and visibility for your pet. It is made of high quality materials and is built to last. If you are looking to replace a plastic pet carrier this is the one to get!
