A purchase like this is hard to "test." You don't ever want to be in a situation to actually need this fire suppression cover. However, we had that rare opportunity to do so last weekend. My daughters and their Girl Scout troop are learning about fire safety in preparation for a Spring camping trip. They practiced building a fire, starting a fire and putting a fire out in the back yard of the troop leader. Because I'm sending them on their camping trip with this blanket I allowed the girls to practice using it ahead of time. At 36x36 this covers a very large area. It completely covered their small "campfire" with lots of room to spare. As far as performance, this blanket immediately suffocated and snuffed out the fire. Because it was so large the girls did not need to get too close to the fire to put it in place. They were able to remain a safe distance away from the flames. I cannot speak about performance in the kitchen as I have not had to use it. However, it worked well outdoors. I received promotional pricing on this item in exchange for sharing my thoughts on it.

Only you can prevent forest fires. Safety is important, and thus having a fire suppression cover around in the kitchen is important. You can protect your house, family, etc. by stopping fires that might occur while cooking. This fire blanket will cover the fire and prevent it from spreading. Easy to install and leave in the kitchen to help prevent fires. The blanket is a decent size that’s 36 by 36. I haven’t been able to test it on an open flame, but I think just having the blanket for safety precautions is a must have. Fires are very dangerous, and can be life threatening. Especially cooking with a gas stove, anything can happen. I like how this blanket doesn’t have an expiration date and can be in reach when needed. I received this product complimentary or at a discount in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

A couple of months ago, I was cooking in the kitchen when I had a little spark up of flame on the burner. Luckily my husband was standing right there and he quickly extinguished it. It shook me up enough to get me thinking, what if I was alone, and what if it was worse? I starting thinking about how I had nothing as far as fire extinguishers in the kitchen. So my research began. I looked into those small counter top fire extinguishers and they got so many mixed reviews. People talking about how sometimes they work and sometimes they don't! Horror stories about the extinguisher failing when they go to use it or it just being too complicated to use. Plus they have a shelf life to them. They don't don't last forever. And it's not like you can test it out, once you use it, you can't ever use it again. Then I found this solution! And I love it so far. I cannot attest to how well this works of course (and honestly I hope to never use it actually!) But I love the concept. First of all, the seller emailed me a very helpful video to watch that shows you have to use the product. It comes in it's own plastic case, that you mount on the inside to one of your cabinets in the kitchen (it comes with the mounting tape) Then if there is a fire, you can quickly grab it, unfold it, and drop it over the fire. This is just the easy peace of mind that I need. And something that won't ever expire or malfunction. It's easy enough for my teen to use too in an emergency or even my elderly parent. I am going to order a few for them actually because I believe it will be so much easier for my parents to use on their own. I received a discount for my honest, unbiased opinion
