As a mother to four kids, I can never have too many thermometers. I keep one in our bedroom, the baby's bedroom, each bathroom, and one in the diaper bag. This thermometer didn't disappoint. It is pretty simple and basic. I have used it on the baby as an armpit reading and I have used it on myself orally. I checked the temperatures with another thermometer just to measure the accuracy of this one and they both came back exact. THe only downfall to this one is that there is no back light. Typically not a big deal though unless you are trying to take the baby's temperature in the dark without disturbing them. I like the fact that it shuts off automatically though because who has the time to shut anything off when they are dealing with sick children? Overall, this is a decent thermometer.

This thermometer works better than others that my family has used. I have used this several times since I've received it. It's easy to use and reminds you of your last read out which helps to know if your child or yourself has cooled or has got hotter. This even tells you if your temperature is low which is amazing in a time of doubt. It is also very durable and great quality, I would compare it to a few more expensive brand named ones. You can never have too many thermometers, so I would recommend getting a few and keeping one in different places. Even in the car if you are on the go a lot like my family.

This digital thermometer is compact and easy to use. It can be used under your tongue, under your arm pit, or rectally for the little ones. There is a simple on/off button that you push. The thermometer's default is Fahrenheit but is easily changed to Celsius. Also, the battery can be replaced, and the instructions state that the battery that is installed, will last about 20 hours (okay, that's a LONG time given it takes only 60 seconds for a reading.)
Okay, so you've got it under your tongue (or the other two places.) Wait about 60 seconds and it beeps. The digital display will show your temp and it's easy to read but it's not backlit so in darker light it's a bit hard to see. (I don't know why they don't backlight these so for those of us with far-sightedness or nighttime vision problems could see these better.)
I took about half dozen temp readings under my tongue and none were the same but each came within a tenth or two of previous readings. My average body temp is 97.5 and these readings were coming up around 96.3. I then took a reading under my arm pit and that was about a degree higher than my mouth (97.4). Not being a doctor or nurse, I cannot explain this or represent anything, but I do recall that the armpit can be a degree lower because it's not inside your body and air flow can mess it up. I also noticed that under the armpit took longer for the beep to occur. And for this review, I am not taking my temp rectally, so you will have to figure out that on your own. I just cannot explain why the reading under my tongue is lower than normal, but consistently within .2 of each reading. And why my armpit reading is higher but more akin to my normal temp.Read more ›

The Heritage Goods Thermometer is perfect for carrying in your bag it’s compact enough it fits in my makeup bag which makes is added protection from damage. This thermometer is very easy to use, it comes with easy to read operation instructions, that make using it simple. The LCD screen is very easy to read and you get very quick results, there’s hardly any wait time for an accurate reading. It is very light weight so it’s easy for kids to use but would work for the entire family. The automatic shut off is a nice feature for me because I seem to always forget to turn things off so I run the batteries out very easily. Cleaning was very quick and easy, as soon as I was done it went right back in my bag. Very simple to use and very lightweight to travel with, which I really liked.
