Okay folks, this is my fourth and LAST floor lamp I buy from Target. Where do I start? The wire that runs through the lamp always get stressed during assembly and my last two broke. One came not working at all. After a couple of months all Target floor lamps break, whether it is the pole that holds up the lamp, or the on off switch. This particular beauty came broken right out of the box. One of the threads were stripped on the legs so the lamp kept falling over, after a modification with electrical tape, i got it working. Unfortunatley they package this stuff so crazy it is more hassle than it is worth to disassemble and return to Target. Please do yourself a favor, spend the extra money and go to a real lighting store.

I love this lamp. Everyone compliments me on it and it looks really nice in my living room with what I put on the shelves. My only complaint is when I put it together it had big stickers on every shelf...the kind that don't come off and I hate that. I had to scrub at them for hours with cleaners, and there's still the sticky residue on the shelves. But other than that it's great and it lights up the room very well.

I bought this lamp over two years ago, and while it looked great and served its purpose, it just stopped working. I did experience the threading on the light switch causing difficulties turning it on, like one reviewer reported.
I could get it to work after that still, but now it won't work at all. It's cheap enough to buy another I suppose, but I absolutely LOVE this lamp and don't want to buy it every 2-3yrs.

If I knew then what I know now, I would have spent the money on a more quality lamp that looked just as nice but lasted a little longer.

This lamp is great! Easy to put together and looks wonderful. Would definitely recommend...

This is a great cheap lamp. Of course it is cheap so don't expect quality. It was easy to put together, I personally didn't need the directions for most of it, and it is very attractive. After about a year and a half I started experiencing the trouble with the light switch that many of the other reviewers mentioned. I used some pliers to turn it off and on for a few weeks as the cord is plugged in behind a heavy bookcase. Not very convenient. So I finally got it unplugged and took the top apart and replaced the socket the bulb inserts into. (like this one Turn Knob Lamp Socket) Annoying, but a simple fix. It will probably be fine now that is has a better quality piece there. Sad, but most likely true.

I bought this lamp and it was money well spent. It's great for adding extra light to a room, but also provides shelving area for putting up accent candles or vases, etc. Weird as it may sound, it's probably one of my favorite pieces of furniture in the house.

this is a great light. i purchased it for my living room but it's style could be used anywhere in any house/apartment. the only reason i have it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the directions to put it together are vague. it's a "trial and error" piece to assemble. but once it's together, well, buy it and see how it looks in your house!

Besides the fact that when I rec'd this lamp, it appeared like someone had already opened and re-boxed... This has got to be the worst quality item I've seen! The rods aren't all the proper length/diameter, so the lamp is unstable. Forget putting ANYTHING on the shelves, as that will knock it over too. This is being RETURNED tomorrow!

Love this lamp! I don't even use the regular light in my office. This lamp does the job and adds a nice touch to my office space.

This item is very attractive and eclectic. For the price point, the quality is reasonable. I haven't had problems with it going on two years. I did experience the big sticker situation mentioned by others. Nice Torchiere for the little bit of money it costs.
