5.0 out of 5 stars Great source of knowledge! May 22, 2012
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I've wanted to sell on eBay for years but felt intimidated by the prospect. I've bought off eBay literally hundreds of times, yet this book taught me more helpful clues to better buying than I thought existed. Now I have the confidence to begin to sell on eBay because of reading (and then rereading) this book. I definitely recommend it to anyone who is new to eBay buying or selling or who is experienced, as well, because there is much more to learn than you probably know. This book is a great help for both buying and selling as well as giving helpful tips on finding things to sell on eBay.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Book! September 12, 2012
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
This book is a great resource for anyone interested in starting an account on eBay, whether you're a potential buyer looking to find good deals, or whether you're a potential seller, just getting rid of extra junk lying around the house, or even considering making a living on the site. I've been thinking of starting out small and seeing how things grow from there, and I'm very impressed with the simple, illustrated explanations.

This books walks you through signing up, making listings, shipping, and more. I'm particularly grateful for inside tips from an experienced seller and buyer on how to tweak your search to find good deals, and also advice on how to protect yourself from scams to maximize your success. Some complex concepts, such as how to manage the taxes on your transactions as a seller, are not explained in full, because there are variables based on your location. But you get a good foundation about how taxes on eBay work, and there are plenty of pointers guiding you where to look to find out the specific information you need.

In short, I'm keeping this book by my bed for constant reference (if not memorization), and I strongly recommend anyone else interested in eBay success to do the same.

5.0 out of 5 stars Probably the Best of the Beginner eBay Books August 28, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Like most other eBay books, this one thoroughly explores the basics without including excess information that puts you to sleep. I didn't see too much I didn't already know, but it's an excellent reference book to have around. I wish there had been an in-depth discussion about using the Selling Manager and Selling Manager Pro, which have a lot of bells and whistles that need explaining.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great beginner reference January 23, 2012
Format:Paperback
This is like all the dummies guides. It gives some basic information in a broad way. It skips a lot of stuff too. Anything that might upset ebay or paypal is left out and they only touch on fraud in a very general way without going into specifics. The rest is your absolute basics. It is great for a true beginner. I have been using ebay for a couple of years so I knew the very basics. It was the stuff in between I was looking for. I still recommend the dummys guide for beginners but if you have been using ebay for more than a couple of years you will learn more from other books I think.

If you are a beginner, do not rely on getting one book. I have found that many books have tips not in others and some are incredible.

I also recommend CRIME On eBay It is a must read for any ebay user and has lots of information not in this book on how to spot and avoid scams. Really, if you do not read any other book on ebay read Crime On eBay and it will save you a lot of grief later.

The followup to this book is eBay 102: What No One Else Will Tell You About eBay It actually has some of the same information but also a lot of new stuff too.

I also enjoyed eBay 101: Selling on eBay For Part-time or Full-time Income

4.0 out of 5 stars It helps with start up. February 22, 2013
Format:Paperback
There are lots of helpful hints but you also need to review the tutorials on the ebay websight. Ebay apparently updates constantly. This helped significantly with setting up and coordinating Paypal, email, and ebay for at home business. Also explained the importance of feedback.

5.0 out of 5 stars Learning the Ropes September 5, 2013
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I have come to the point in my life where I am downsizing what I have and parting with childhood things. This book is teaching me about Ebay from the first thing through the tougher parts of it. I am still making my way though the book, but so far I have learned a great deal and I feel empowered to go ahead and try to sell things. I may even have some success. It clearly lays out every detail you would need to know and it teaches you the points that will get you up and on without much trouble, the successful sale may be in your reach after you go through this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Comprehensive and an Easy Read September 10, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I have collected a lot of things over my lifetime and look to EBAY to unload some of my possessions to make room. I am not one to venture into things blindly, I am a research addict, so I bought this to help me navigate the ins and outs of the EBAY world.

I have finished my read and it certainly has got me off to a good start setting up my account and I'm ready to go.

A little more homework on my end and I will be able to brave the EBAY world undaunted because I have my trusty guide by my side.

I will update the review as soon as I have solid results to share.
