5.0 out of 5 stars This book got me published.
I used "The eBook Formatting & Publishing Guide" to get my own eBook published. Originally, I was willing to pay through the nose to have someone else do it because it seemed like a daunting task, but the step-by-step instructions were simple and got me through the process without banging my head on the computer. Lamendola's humor offered some much-needed comic relief...

I had to delete this "book" before getting any use out of it, as it was inane to the point of being unreadable. The author proudly points out that he had no editor, and believe me, he needed one. So far, so good. I appreciate the step-by-step, no assumptions made approach to this guide. I could do without the sarcasm (!) even though that's how my mind generally works, it's a little distracting but I guess it keeps me laughing along the way. I was pleased to find that I was already on the right track with my document preparation. I'll be back with a complete review once I get "this sucker" published as an eBook!!!

Originally, I was willing to pay through the nose to have someone else do it because it seemed like a daunting task, but the step-by-step instructions were simple and got me through the process without banging my head on the computer. Lamendola's humor offered some much-needed comic relief and actually made the whole thing fun. Not what I was expecting to happen at all! I'm working on my next eBook already. Will I format it myself? Yes, but only if I have "The eBook Formatting & Publishing Guide" sitting next to me.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this guide by Michael Lamendola. It was funny, informative and I learned a lot. It is great to have something refreshing to learn from and laugh a little while you're doing so. I can't wait to get my own book through the process. Good work Michael. Looking forward to more. The Yard Sale (But It Ain't No Bargain)

I had to delete this "book" before getting any use out of it, as it was inane to the point of being unreadable. The author proudly points out that he had no editor, and believe me, he needed one. The best thing that can be said about this piece of dreck is that it demonstrates precisely what's wrong with the whole "ebook" industry: no slushpile, no standards, and no editors. If this is representative of electronic publishing, and electronic publishing is the future, then world literature is doomed.

This thing is supposed to be a technical work, a "how to" manual; in such works the optimum goal is communication. First and foremost, then, it must be about words and clear expression. "The eBook Formatting & Publishing Guide For The Broke and Stressed" is rife with grammatical errors, inappropriately used words, non-words, and attempts at humor worthy of a fifth grader. It's beyond me why so many people with no affinity whatever for the language are so interested in trying to write. I've no idea whether or not the author knows what he's talking about, because he was more interested in trying to be cute than understood (and he failed at both).
