just plug it in and it works!,

Bought this cam for my Mac Mini. Smaller than it looks. The picture is not as good as you might think with a CCD sensor (vs CMOS). Looks like a good CMOS cam. I could not find a better alternative. This camera requires no software drivers on the Mac and I've tested with AIM, Skype and Yahoo chats programs. All work! Good little cam.

My powerbook g4 didn't have the built-in camera so I needed one to use with Skype for video chats. I bought this and have been very pleased with it. Been using it everyday for about 4 months or so. It is about the size of my thumb in length and about half that in height and depth. It is well thought-out having a sturdy little stand to sit on its own and uses that same stand to brace itself on top of you laptop screen. At the base are two holes if you want to mount it more permanently. I don't know too much about resolution and whatnot but it gets the job done and does it pretty well. It even comes with a little cloth carrying sac for transport in your laptop bag. I have absolutely no complaints. The best part, though, is how well it integrates itself. Just take it out of the box and plug it in... within 5 seconds there you are! Though you can download some from the website if you want for troubleshooting purposes and updates, you don't have to. Nothing additional needed. Don't want to use it? Pull it out, no issues. Easy to use, no hassles, gets the job done more than adequately for my purposes. Four stars instead of five only because at $60 it's a bit pricey. But it feels sturdy in my hand, not at all cheaply-made so I assume it will last for a long time. I wanted a camera to use for my mac seamlessly and didn't want to pay the $200 or so for the isight and feel I came out ahead. Highly recommended!

I was looking for a webcam that would work well with a pre-Intel Mac. This camera is simple to use (just plug in) and produces a passable image. It also has a fixed focus, so there is no need to make adjustments. It is not as sharp as the webcam built into the most recent Macs, however. Moreover, the lens is susceptible to flares, so that light from windows or overhead fixtures will often distort the image. Finally, it does not come with a built in microphone, which means that in some circumstances, you will need to purchase a separate USB mike. Overall, it is a decent camera, but I think there are better products to be had at a comparable price.

Not sure what the person that called it "poor design" and cheapy-looking was talking about. I mean, it looks just like the picture. Strange...
I bought this for webcam use with family across the country. My Mac G4 has no built-in cam. Here are the high-yield facts. I am new to web-cam use and give myself a 5 of 10 for computer literacy. 1) Just like the other reviews say, you "just plug it in." No driver or other software to install/download. 2) It is small, would fit in my closed fist. 3) Based on my own experience, it: -works well with Mac -works well with Skype -can be viewed on the "other end" by a Windows PC. In other words, my dad can see me well on his PC when I use this iMage camera with my Mac G4. Overall, good buy for use for video chatting. Quality is poor with bad lighting, but this is easily fixed: you want to have light on your face, but no light source in sight of the camera. In other words, you want a good light source just behind the lens shining on the user. In other news, be sure to try Skype first when video chatting with Mac and PC. Hope this helps!

They don't stress you need a USB 2.0 port, I have a 10.4.11 and it is a PowerPC G4 but it doesn't have the USB high speed 2.0 ports in the back so product doesn't work.

This is a great little web camera and has added a whole new dimension to seeing grand-kids on both coasts.
The limitations so far have been software and connection speed so do not expect HDTV. I am sure you can spend less but this was the best option I could find when purchased and I am well satisfied. Also I do not have as yet a great deal of experience with the video technology. This was plug and play so it did not require a lot to install. I had one contact with customer service which was satisfactory.

I bought the camera a year ago for using with Mac Mini Intel (Tiger), it is sitting on top of my 26'' LCD TV screen. Installation was easy, I don't remember any complications. I use it with Skype mostly, but I have successfully tested it also with iChat and some MSN clients (it cannot be used with Adium).
Unfortunately the camera has nothing for attachment, so it has fallen down from it's high location several times. Once so badly, that a tiny plastic screw (one of the 2 keeping the the box to the pod) fell off and I could not find it any more. The camera works still fine, but adjusting the direction is somewhat complicated. Help was closer than I thought: after dropping a line to the company, a package with the needed parts was sent to me on the same day! Such a good service is definitely worth the fifth star.

I do not like the design, it looks like cheap toy camera made in China. But it works good without audio, you would have to buy a separate microphone. I would rather just get iSight on Auction for a bargain price.

I found out about this little webcam for Macs, read the reviews, ordered it via [...]. It came immediately direct from the company. I opened it, read the directions, plugged it in, set SKYPE preferences, and called my son in Ireland via SKYPE. It worked immediately!! And the picture is much clearer than the built-in video cam in his laptop. What fun!!

No drivers, no hassle, just plug&play. Resolution is not the best, but it gets the job done. I appreciate the ability to be used with a tripod.
