I purchased this wrist strap for my Nikon D300. It is very high quality and works great, giving me a lot more control over my camera and adds security as well. I use this wrist strap in addition to the shoulder strap that came with my camera--the shoulder strap attaches to the wrist strap on one end and the unused eyelet on the camera on the other end. I couldn't be more pleased with this item!

It's ok,

After switching to a hand strap I have no desire to go back to a neck strap. It's great having it there to give you that little extra security to just holding the camera. I'm not convinced however that this is the best hand strap to buy. I can't seem to get it tight enough to feel %100 percent about it without cramping my fingers and making it a chore to push the shutter button. I thought that the extra padding that goes down the back of the hand would help to make it more secure but it actually does nothing, most of the time it is only snug where the strap is and the rest of the pad isn't even touching my skin. This thing will do until I find one that's better

Does not work well with my Canon XSi.,

This does not work well with my Canon XSi. The strap works well only for the resting position. Don't even attempt to take shot with your hand in this thing. You'll end up cramping your fingers unless you keep your index finger outside of it and shoot with your middle finger. Then, and only then do you retain full access to all buttons, eg the ISO button.
I'm not sure if other SLRs have the same issue w/ this strap.

I was disappointed with this hand strap for two reasons, firstly, I'm a petite woman...5'2, 115 lbs so my hands aren't very big and this strap felt useless...it was never secure and secondly, even if it had fit on my hand, there's no way to easily go from the hand strap to the neck strap...seems logical looking back but at the time I ordered it, I assumed there would be a way to have both on there so I could carry my camera around my neck in between shootings
That said, it does fit well on a Nikon D200 so if you have man hands and don't mind not having a neck strap, it's not too bad

The strap I got have a completely different base from the ones in the picture, The end of the strap is frayed, (easy to fix with a lighter, and the strap itself isn't that great. not very comfortable and the boarder is torn.

Dropped 1 camera years ago. Never gonna do that again. I have one of these straps on every camera I own. Also feel safer when teaching someone how to take "pitchers" that they won't oops me into the poorhouse.

I originally bought this for use with my Nikon D3000, and it fits that camera well. However, since purchasing this, I moved it to my N75 (film camera) where it has gotten the most use. This strap is comfortable and, most importantly, quite secure. It is simple to install, though the instructions aren't the clearest, and will adjust to fit most any camera base. My only issues would be that there is a fine line between "too loose" and "too tight", and adjustment can be tricky, but I think that is based more on the user than the product. Considering the cost of branded hand-straps made by Nikon and Canon, this is an extremely good deal, and well worth the price.Pros; -inexpensive -will fit most any camera -comfortable Cons; -poor instructions -tricky to adjust

Being new to the photo hobby but not to cameras, I know I don't like the long straps and the camera hanging from your neck or shoulder. So, I got this and I am very surprised of how comfortable it is. Is also very easy to install and to adjust. The knob itself has a socket so you don't have to remove it in order to use a tripod or to attach extra accessories. Will recommend.

I have a Nikon D3 which is a heavy camera and this helps tremendously in the moments when I drop my hand to my side but don't want to let my camera go. I've had it for about six months and it's still going strong.

I've had one of these hand straps in the past on other cameras and like the level of comfort that they can add. I thought I would try this one and found it to be poorly constructed made out of a non-breathable foam. In contact with the back of your hand it gets hot. There's too much padding in the thing making control less than pleasing. The bottom screw hole was NOT threaded to accept a standard 1/4"-20 tripod fitting. I don't know if they missed doing that on mine or it's a design flaw.
I'll look for a higher quality one next time. |
