Winter in Minnesota means that you're in darkness from 5pm to 8am during the winter months. Having a good head lamp is important! I'm really impressed with this unit. Having 3 different light settings is handy and spares the batteries when you don't need all of that extra light. In fact, it's pretty rare when I use the higher settings on this head lamp. It's also important to have cheap power and using 3 AAA batteries is a good way to go. My 20 pack still has 17 perfectly good batteries waiting to go, the lamp is certainly efficient on power.

The headband is pretty comfortable and quite adjustable in my opinion and the light has several vertical pointing adjustments so I'm happy with that too. Frankly, I can't think of too many ways to improve the device. It's certainly a good value.

I use this to work on computers (no more fumbling with a flashlight), work around the house (great in the basement, barn or garage), and just about anything else. The Xenon bulb really goes far, too! Perfect for those distance-spots.

I purchased this headlamp because sometimes I have to run early in the morning through scary wooded areas...this lamp really lights things up. So far at least, the harness isn't too bouncy and nothing chafes my head too badly. It works!

The lights work well. It's easy to put on and take off. The batteries are easy to change and seem to last a reasonable amount of time, although I haven't recorded actual use time. The straps stretch out after a while with frequent use. That's my only complaint. Compared to several other head lights I tried before this one, it's a gem. One of the positives about this lamp is that the light does NOT reflect down onto my glasses, which other ones did. This can be a problem if you wear glasses and have the least little dust on them.

The Krypton bulb burned out within the first 2 days of using this product, and I wasn't even using that bulb. Somehow my batteries were used up after 1 days use, maybe it got accidently clicked on during the day. My replacement batteries did the same thing, so by the end of a 3 day trip I had no light as I only brought one set of replacement batteries. When the light was working properly it gave off great light.

Great device. Never realized how handy it is to have both hands available when working in the dark. It fits well, holds its position, and adjusts easily to focus on the smallest project.
I'm only sorry I waited so long to buy it.
Only 4 stars because it lacks red LEDS that save power.

I bought this for night hiking in West Virginia. The stars out there are fantastic and this will get me where I want to go, no problem, over any terrian. Very very bright light. Also, I find myself using this thing all the time. I use it to walk the dog and find excrement for a thorough pick up, for working around the house, changing light bulbs, fixing switches. I use it all the time. PLUS, it takes AAA batteries, easy to buy. I highly recommend this light for anyone.

I gave this head lamp to my brother as a gift. He wasn't sure at first, but soon realized it was perfect for walking the dog at night. Easy to use, adjustable fit. Great for anyone who needs both hands free and could use more light.

I ordered this as a Christmas present for my husband to read to our kids at bedtime. The three different light options are a nice feature. The only bummer was that the light seemed to burn through batteries extremely quickly. I contacted eGear, and they quickly replaced it with a new one, despite the fact that the warranty had expired months before. Exceptional customer service.
