Let's put this in perspective. A standard 2 D-cell flashlight is about 16 lumens of light. A good 3 D-cell Maglite is about 24 lumens. This is a WHOPPING 120 blinding lumens.
I set it down on one end of my house lit up, and walked away 50 feet to look at the beam. It radiates like the sun and is still hard to view directly. Lit the other room up, too! Did a side-by-side comparison with my four C-cell, 5 Watt, 120 lumen flashlight and this little bugger was just as bright, if not a bit brighter. Shine this on the ceiling in a dark room and light up the whole room; especially with white ceilings. It's a lot more power in a smaller package than a 3 D-cell Maglite, and pretty long lasting. Great for periodic use and reportedly lasts up to 3 hours on fresh batteries. Also great for defense as it can momentarily blind intruders, and scares off wild animals. The quality of the white light is great and you'll never go back to yellow light again. The corona (light surrounding the center beam) tends to be clean and consistent - not broken like other lights. This is one SERIOUS flashlight. The nylon pouch is rectangular and slightly reinforced front and back with front velcro closure, and stitched belt loop. The flashlight fits snugly and has a wrist lanyard. Good quality all around. CONS: The smaller expensive CR123 batteries is what hurts. Still good life, though. Consider rechargeable batteries if you plan on using this frequently. Otherwise you have 10 years of standby use. No focus for the light, but it is so bright I don't think you will miss it. Very water resistant, but more water proofing would be nice. Type 2 anodized aluminum isn't as tough as type 3. Simple on/off switch on the neck. No dimming capability like it's big brother. Face it, incandescent lighting in flashlights is as old at the invention of the light bulb, 125+ years. It's time to upgrade, and you won't go wrong with 120 lumens. Anything brighter is hard to find and out of the price range of most people. I own several LED flashlights and they all are great for different reasons. You'll never replace the bulb and use fewer batteries. I have since gotten rid of any plastic flashlight in the house. I have been surfing looking for LED flashlights for months. Even with the cons, I am convinced these are some of the best in their class IN THE WORLD. Get one! You'll never regret it.
