5.0 out of 5 stars Not just for Dummies
This is a really good package for learning keyboard and more. The piano program is very helpful. There are lessons with a teacher that steps you through piano techniques. I've still got a long way to go until I'm completely threw the lessons but the keyboard is nice and not just for beginners. It has loads of sounds.

1.0 out of 5 stars Very bad in my opinion!
First of all, the manual must have been written in China (e.g. "touch the Function at first and then...."). the manual was not very helpful when I couldn't get things to work. At first I had a lot of difficulty getting the keyboard to work with the software. When I finally got it to work it kept stopping. When it worked, even speaking near the Mac (I use an iMac)...

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for learning piano, December 27, 2010

I bought this product on a whim when it was offered on the Amazon hot deals. It was a little intimidating at first as I set it up, but within 30 minutes I was off and playing. It is awesome. Learning piano is something I've always wanted to do, but never took the time to take a class, nor do I own a piano. This package gave me everything I needed to get started. The software instruction is great. It takes you step-by-step through the process of learning the basics. The keyboard is also very nice. There are a lot of features on it, most of which I most likely won't use. My only goal is to learn how to play the piano and I feel very confident I can accomplish that with this package. I also bought the guitar package...stay tuned for a review on that.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic!, January 4, 2011

Love the keyboard, love the tutorial. Much more than I expected. The sound is rich, not like a cheapy tin sound. Its like having a piano tutor right there with you and starts with the basics/clapping/counts etc. Also, I have to tell you that when it was initially delivered- it was either stolen off my porch or not truly delivered at all. The tracking usps said it was delivered and it was not. I checked everyday. I called them one week before Christmas and they had it REsent and I got it before Christmas with no hassle!!! I couldn't believe it! I am very satisfied with the product and the seller and the manner in which they dealt with the delivery issue.

5.0 out of 5 stars Piano Keyboard for Dummies, January 1, 2011

I haven't had a piano lesson since I was 10 years old in about 1967. I ordered this thing on a whim, only because it was the Amazon "Deal of the Day." It is wonderful! Sounds and feels like a real piano and I just love it! I don't regret this purchase at all!

Great Price for a quality product.... I always wanted to learn the piano but not at a huge expense.. I am enjoying the computer lessons and being able to work at your own pace... I would recommend to anyone who has ever wanted to learn how to play the piano.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent if you want to learn or need a refresher!, February 2, 2011

I haven't played the piano in almost 15 years and decided to purchase this to refresh my skills and see if I still had any interest in playing before I bought a piano. This pack was excellent for a refresher! The keyboard is of good quality and the software included was wonderful, as it was detailed and easy to follow. Even my daughter, who has never played, was able to sit down and follow the lessons. I highly recommend this product for anyone who wants to learn some basics and/or refresh their memory.

This keyboard works...good for the price and fun to play with...it does teach you how to play and I think you can learn pretty easy if you stick with it...I don't like how the record feature works, so if you wanna play with loops and stuff...spend more money

The keyboard sounds very good and the touch is near real to a standard piano. Lesson software is also well done and easy to follow. For the price this is an awesome product to learn piano with.

First of all, the manual must have been written in China (e.g. "touch the Function at first and then...."). the manual was not very helpful when I couldn't get things to work. At first I had a lot of difficulty getting the keyboard to work with the software. When I finally got it to work it kept stopping. When it worked, even speaking near the Mac (I use an iMac) showed notes being played when no keys were played on the keyboard. I could not get it to work with GarageBand. It kept conking out just as it did with its own software. The only solution was to turn off the keyboard and turn it on again. The hype before you buy (and on the box, etc.) indicates 150 lessons. Well, one page is a lesson! The first 23 "lessons" aren't really one complete lesson. The hype also indicated 300 voices. The voices are terrible! if there are really 10 or 12 different voices that's a lot. There are supposed to be 50 or more songs including "Piano Man." Piano Man is not one of the songs and those that are there are less than a minute each. I could not get the lessons to work with these short songs. The LED did not work while the keyboard is on batteries. IF the thing performed as advertised I suppose it would not be too bad for the price but it is a rip off because of the way it works and, most of all, because of the way it doesn't work. I returned it 2 days after it arrived and I'll continue my search for an appropriate keyboard.

1.0 out of 5 stars 2 out of 2 battery function broken, 1 DOA, September 28, 2011
This review is from: eMedia Piano for Dummies 61-Key Keyboard Starter Pack (Electronics)
All the features in the world don't matter if it isn't dependable. Battery function broken on arrival twice (as delivered on 2 of them) returned it. Very disappointed. Volume is barely acceptable, not good enough for a noisy environment like having a fan nearby. Controls are not intuitive, must read manual.
