Bought this for my daughter who has been playing for about a year now. Most of the first lessons were below her skill level. She was pretty excited to have the animated fretboard to help her learn songs like "Lake of Fire" and AC DC songs. When we got the program and she got to those songs she was disappointed because it only teaches one or two bars of the songs not the whole song. There are only a couple songs they teach all of and they weren't songs she wanted to learn.

animated fretboard is an awsome way to learn
chord dictionary is a great tool
Metronome is helpful
the digital recorder will help you hear your progress

Cons
it teaches only a few bars of each song
most of the lessons are very basic
the vocals on the disk are really bad

Overall it is worth the money to learn some of the styles but would be better if they could teach whole songs. I don't think anyone likes to be able to only play 2 bars of a song.

I think it is great for someone just learning and never touch a guitar before . I have played before and it had been a while so I was looking for something more of a review and to bring myself back up to speed since it has been a while since I had played guitar. I'm always in front of the computer so I figured this would be perfect to do on the computer. I am learning some things from the cd and it has help motivate me to play again and i have been picking up my guitar doing so more often. and the tips given on this cd has also help alot with setting up the sound I'm looking for.as of now I have not finished it yet but I would say yes it is worth the money . but I would also say if you are a pretty good guitar player already well then this isn't for you. Chances are you already know most if not all of what is on this cd . but if you are just starting out or just want to get motivated to play again and need to get back to the basics this may work for you and some of the tips on this cd will be of great help to you too.

Easy to use, very informative and convenient. This software provides easy to follow steps for a beginner to learn the basics of guitar playing and makes learning fun.

This is a great easy way to learn the guitar. I'm more into rock music so this software is appropriate since it focuses on that style.
