I got this beginner guitar pack because it seemed to have everything I needed to start playing. The guitar looks cool and is easy to play. It also has an amp with distortion. It also comes with a CD-ROM that teaches you how to play. It is more of a rock approach to guitar, including songs by Green Day, Nirvana and Black Sabbath. The program starts off teaching different guitar skills and then teaches a song with those skills. Then it will teach a slightly harder guitar skill and another song. It is laid out very logically. I didn't want to spend too much money because I thought guitar might be hard and I might not stick with it. The amp is fine for now but I will probably get a bigger one if I want to play with my friend who plays drums. I need to get a little better first. This is perfect first start though.

this was great on Christmas Eve and my grandson really had a good time learning with it. It is now 2 weeks later and it already does not work. The amp quit and we thought it was just batteries, but no, not that simple. We are now scouring guitar stores to find a new one that will. DISAPPOINTING.

We bought this for our son who is 9. The is a perfect beginner guitar with room to grow. The only draw back is the small little amp that comes with it does not come with a power adapter so it is NOT plug and play. Thankfully we purchased a lager amp and he was ready to jam. The quality of the guitar is better than I expected. Other than the amp (which kept me from giving 5 stars)this is a good deal for the money.

The amp is very small and not that loud at all.The guitar seems to work just fine. I bought a bigger amp and it sounds ten times louder.

I purchased this guitar pack for my 12 year old daughter so she could teach herself how to play. The teaching tools provided in this pack are great if you have the motivation to sit down and use them but it may be difficult for the impatient and less motivated. I gave it 5 stars because this pack does provide the tools to teach yourself but before you purchase you need to determine if the user will be able to get the most out of it.
