I like having the ability to mount 2-3 flashes on one umbrella or soft-box so I was very excited about ordering this item. My first impression was the unit is very sturdy and well made. However, I lost a spring out of one of the flash brackets first time using it, but found it the next day on my carpet. If I was shooting outside in grass... I don't like that it is so easy to lose those. You just have to be careful. Additionally, you have to be very careful when your flash is mounted with an umbrella/modifier and you loosen the ball head, as it releases very suddenly and the whole unit flops around. If your flash is not REALLY locked down, I can see it possibly coming off. On the plus side of that though, the brackets do lock down well even with the thumb screw, just be careful. I think the ball head should have a little more graduated tension to prevent this and maybe in an updated version it will. I may use it mounted on a regular umbrella bracket instead of the ball head. Also, the first time I used it, the umbrella slid out of it's holder and hit the floor. I could not get it tight enough without feeling I was damaging the umbrella shaft. I eventually did get it tight using pliers and just snugging it up a little more. I would have given it 5 stars if not for these issues. I may send it back and get the Westcott Triple Threat. I haven't decided.
***Update: 07/05/2013***
decided to send this unit back and get the Westcott Triple Threat. FYI I sent the return info in to Amazon and got my return authorization immediately. I messed around looking for a box for a couple of days and shipped it back to Amazon today. As soon as Amazon was notified by UPS that it was scanned into their system, my funds were back in my account. UNBELIEVABLE SERVICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I can honestly say that I have never been as satisfied with any company in my entire career as I am with the big A!!!

There are a couple of less then flattering reviews of this bracket. I do not know if the difference between theirs and mine is that the manufacturer has corrected the deficiencies between then and now, but I found this bracket to be just about perfect. It securely holds all three of my 430EX-IIs, I did not try it with the 580 or 600, but only because I only have one each of those. It held the flash units very securely mounted to the light stand tightly and firmly held the umbrella. It is easy to adjust and reposition. Holding the three lights in a triangle allows this bracket to evenly light the umbrella. It is considerably cheeper then the Westcott triple threat and comes with a ball head which the Westcott does not. If you need a multi unit flash bracket I highly recommend this one.

The item is pretty much what you get. Super heavy duty bracket, at least 2 lbs of heft. Slides onto your light stand, tightens down and the top portion is basically a flash fireball of blinding movement with the center umbrella hole. I tried it out with a softbox and thre china 560s and put out way more light that i needed to kill the sun. great item in my book

When you are on a shoot it is much easier to carry several flashes than studio lighting and power packs, Having three flashes really bumps up the light output as a key light for larger groups. I carry several Vivitar 283s & 285s which are much cheaper and convenient than studio strobes for outdoor or constantly changing setups.

This adapter is well built and solid. I placed three Nikon SB -26 flashes on it and the flash bracket held together well. I was afraid the unit was "flimsy", but it's not. Highly recommend.

I love the quality of light you can get with three flashes, but the ballhead won't support the weight of my 84'' silver umbrella.

This unit is solidly constructed and awesome for the price. Now I can use three flashes on low power and get really quick recharge times, and use it outside to overpower the sun. Great solid adapter.

One of the sturdiest brackets I've ever seen. I definitely recommend this for use with 3 flashes. If you play hockey and need a puck you can use this, its built that well.
