This is the first lighting kit I own. I am starting to learn lighting skill and browse around.
For a beginner I me, I prefer Continuous Lighting, I get what I can see. This set has the brightest output and biggest soft box with a <$200 price.

You will get 3 sets of lights including 3 soft boxes, 3 light stands, 3 light heads and 15 light bulbs. The light bulbs alone worth $150 if you buy them seperated.
The kits arrive on-time and took me more than an hour to assemble. The soft box is the hardest part, you can go to YouTube and search for ePhoto 5 lights, the enclosure design of the soft box is different from the video, but it is the same way to build it. Basically it is similar to build a camping tent, use rods to support the boxes. The light stands are metal, but the locking clamp is plastic with metal nuts, not very strong, but ok for home studio use. The light head has a red indicate light and be careful, all 5 switches are in "ON" position when they arrived. Make sure you turn them off before you plug in the power. The 65W light bulbs are big, bigger than .5L water bottle, I have one defective bulb when it arrived, Amazon agree to refund me that bulb. I did not see a 65W replacement bulb in Amazon, similar CFL light bulb are either 45W or 85W.

The lights are bright if you put them within your arms reach. I can get about 1/100 at f/5.6 using ISO 100 with two lights on 45 degree and ~ 3 feet distance.
Bright enough for me to practice lighting.

I really would like to give this 3.5 stars, cause its not as bad as a 3 but not a 4.
I work as a professional cinematographer for a university. Shooting LOTS of interviews, speeches, instructions and skits for various classes and marketing pieces.
Bought these lights about a month and a half ago and have been using them heavily. We have no studio space to keep things set up, so these are really being used. Set up and broken down 2 to 3 times a week.

PROS:
- Light Quality is beautifully soft
- Very Consistent Spread of light
- Has inner diffuser for added softness.
- Individual switch for each bulb is super convenient. Many similar kits have only 2 switches tied to half the bulbs.
- Run VERY cool. I've shot a lot using tungsten and halogen lights in more expensive portable light kits. I dont feel like i need to turn these lights off in between takes if in a small setting.
- Saves energy, so thats good for the earth.
- These look AMAZING on a subject with a dark background. If you need a kit to light the BG AND SUBJECT, this may not do.

CONS:
- CHEAP construction. Weak plastic.
- Useless Stands - I bought some heavier duty stands when i got this kit because I knew ahead of time the stands would not do the job.
- Not the easiest to set up. May take a bit to figure it out, but once you do it a couple times you can set up all 3 lights in about 20 min.
- Power Cables do not secure tightly. This causes no issues, however it does mean that a slight bump or trip may set them off.
- Company is known for sending faulty gear. We ordered two kits, one was perfect. The other had two cracked light heads and a bootprint on the INSIDE Of the case.
- Not super powerful as far as tossing light.

We recently purchased the ePhoto 4500W light kit about a month ago. Since then we have used it almost exclusively. Let me explain.
We also own an Arri light kit with 2 300W and 2 650W lights. WIth a Chimera Softbox attached to the 650W, compared to one of the ePhoto lights. It only takes 2 bulbs to be flicked on to match the intensity of the Arri 650W. 2 BULBS!

For the price, its one of the best kits we've invested in. They are powerful, light, and use WAY less electricity then conventional lights.
The ability to just set lights and rather than adding diffusion you can turn bulbs on or off is HUGE!
Also you can easily replace the bulbs with whatever color temperature CFL's you like.

I have only a few concerns with the lights:
The bulbs themselves are kinda cheap. Not in price but in quality. Also the Lights themselves are NOT 5600K. To get an accurate White balance you'll need to do a custom white balance to get the correct color temp. (Mind you its easily color corrected)
The stands are... weak. Obviously you get what you paid for. Still worth the price, you just have to tighten and maybe retighten your stands.
The carrying case is nice but you can't really transport the lights unless you unpack and repack every individual bulb.

Overall we loved this light kit. If your on the fence, buy it!
Its only $200! Totally worth the risk.

Plus nothing beats a nice soft light. These are nice soft lights.

I just received this light kit and so far I'm pretty impressed. They put out enough light for sure and the fact you can turn off each lamp is handy. Of course they are not going to throw light very far but you shouldn't expect that from lights like these.

As with all products like these(Cowboy Studios, Ephoto, ect.) the build quality is not the best. What can you expect for $187.00? The stands work but you need to be careful with all the knobs for sure and I would recommend the cheap 20 pound sandbags on Amazon. I wouldn't suggest breaking them down and putting them together all the time. I think I'm going to try and store them somewhere already built.

As for the 5500K that they say the bulbs put out, I'm not sure. They might be just a hair off but nothing that can't be fixed in post

All in all, well worth the money.
