I have 6 security cameras, 4 of the them are night owl, one is videosecu, and then this one. This is is by far this best, and it had the lowest price tag. The 700 TVL makes a noticeable difference, and I now wish I would have only bought 700 TVL cameras. The infrared lights light up more than my other cameras by far.

One caveat to this review is that I only installed in a couple of days ago, so I can't speak for reliability yet. However, if it fails I will update this review.

One frustration I initially had was that it didn't come with a power adapter, but I can't ding them on the review because it never claims to, and I'm sure there are people that already have extra spots on their power-splitter and do not wish to pay for an extra adapter. You will also need to buy your own cable/line, but at this price you can't expect any extras.

Overall, this is a great budget camera. If you're trying to stay under $40 per camera, I don't think you can do any better.

I was uncertain which to chose so I tried both this one and VideoSecu Day Night Vision Outdoor 28 Infrared LEDs Weatherproof Security Camera Built-in 1/3" Sony CCD 3.6mm Wide Angle View Lens (Power Supply Included) WE7.

Primary reason I kept the eSecure is better color. I could not get the VideoSecu to be true to color.

Both have nice thick aluminum. It has a clear, wide viewing angle, but realize this is not a megapixel camera.
The resolution of both are better than the 3-4 year old $100 cameras I had before. The LEDs have the standard red glow at night.

The eSecure uses an allen wrench to lock down the position the VideoSecu base secures like a baby bottle ring.

The eSecure is a good inch smaller in diameter at the base. (they are up so I cannot give you dimensions)

One thing I thought odd was there was click when these cameras go to b/w night vision. The VideoSecu did not do this.

They have been under the roof eaves for a couple weeks now.

They are facing in southern direction in a level 6 zone. I will update if they fail.

1 out of 2 cameras bought had no night vision. They seem to wok in daylight but act up on some of them with night vision. Had to return one of them.

This camera has decent vision during the day, but if you want good night vision do not buy this camera. The camera had the fish eye affect and you cannot not see much of anything at night. This camera is sufficient with a 24 hour daytime setting, but as far as night vision it is NOT good. Spend the extra money if you want to see what is happening during the night.

I was really happy after I set it up. At night I could only see the blurry fisheye that I have seen a couple other folks complain. I would have tried for exchange had I seen option since there are some other folks claim that it worked fine at night.

This camera is great for daytime action, but night vision is horrible, and not worth buying, spend the extra and get good cameras.

I have been using my Zoneminder based security camera system for many years, but have never been able to find a low-cost IP based camera that has the right combination of view angle, night vision, and resolution. For the most part, these cameras all seem to have software flaws that result in glitches and dropouts. With the addition of a "GrandStream 4 Port IP Video Encoder" (ASIN: B005UIU4EY), I have started experimenting with lower cost video (non-IP) cameras. After trying a few other disappointing night vision cameras, I ordered this camera and I am very happy with its performance.

I have this camera mounted under the eaves of a two-story home looking down on the driveway. The wide angle lets me see the entire driveway, garages, and street, and the resolution is good enough to see small objects (like the newspaper) at the end of the driveway. It can't read license plates, but I wouldn't expect this camera to be able to do that. The IR and night vision works well, with even illumination throughout the image. The night vision image is a tiny bit grainy, but is the best image I've been able to get with either IP or non-IP based cameras at night. The daytime color is a bit unsaturated (not really a problem for security cameras), and the colors looks correct (red is red, green is green).

The dome camera form-factor was a bit of an issue for mounting under eaves - if you rotate the camera towards the base too much, the IR lights reflect back into the lens and washes out the image. I created a small wedge shape block to correct the angle of the base and allow the camera to be positioned higher up. This isn't an issue with the camera itself, but with how I am trying to use this camera in a non-intended application.

Overall I am very happy with this camera, and will likely be purchasing more to replace the other IP cameras in my system.

Installed this item and it worked great for 3 months but then it started flickering. This is super annoying since the DVR sounds an alarm when the camera goes out. There is no warranty with this camera so just spend the extra money and get one with a warranty.

I just setup this camera tonight and boy am I impressed. I had ordered a 960H system with 4 600TVL bullet cameras (6mm). I needed 2 more cameras so I thought I would try this one to see how it worked. Well, it works Great. It is a wide angle camera (3.6mm) with very good quality picture. Better than the other 4 cameras that came in the system I ordered. The night vision is also very good. I have No Complaint At All. I will be buying another one of these cameras to finish off my system. With the wide angle lenses I can put one on the front of my home to cover the front and one on the back of my house to cover the back. With one of the bullet cams facing these dome cams and one bullet on each side of the house. Should give excellent coverage. I like being able to lock the cam in place with the allen wrench. That should keep it pointed where it needs to be pointed. Really Great camera for my needs.

They shipped me a completely different camera than the one listed here. I received a CM2225W from another manufacturer. Listing says the camera should be an 850TVL, the one I received is apparently 700TVL. This one also doesn't seem likely to be weatherproof.
