I bought this card for my wife who works with Indesign, Photoshop, Pagemaker, etc.
She is quite happy with the faster screen refreshes & improved display clarity. Nice inexpensive upgrade & easy 10 minute install.

On the recommendation of the previous reviewer, I was looking for a card that would run Compiz, Beryl, XGL, AIGLX, etc. on my Ubuntu Dapper Drake 6.06 system.
I purchased this card on Amazon refurbished, received a great deal and a perfect product. I was not sure if this 8x AGP card would work in the AGP 1.0 slot in my Dell XPS t700r machine (from 2000 or 2001...I believe 2000), but it did! Found a tutorial on how to use the NVIDIA "Beta" driver for this card online with Beryl and it worked great. I am running Ubuntu with all the eyecandy I can handle now (certainly not quite perfectly as crisp or fast as if I had a more advanced AGP slot and computer, but still...it's smooth, fast and plenty sweet), no more lags in MAME arcade emulator, etc. Having a great time!

Great inexpensive upgrade for recent games. My GeForce 5200 was supposed to work with Civ IV, but was terribly sluggish and after a few minutes displayed an unusable corrupted image. This 6200LE solved those problems and greatly increased performance in all our games for a very reasonable price.

I am building a quiet and stable PC. For my graphic card I was looking for a fanless nVidia video card with OpenGL 2.0 and DVI. I am using Ubuntu 6.06 with the easyubuntu package.
The installation was easy, like upgrading RAM (no issues, no driver installation, etc). It is quiet as my past video card (MX 4000) and run dvds smoothly. I don't play games but the OpenGL 2.0 support is important, because I'm planning on using it to develop software interfaces. I give it 5 stars mostly because it performs well, has new technologies and great value.

This is a powerful Graphics Card. It may be to powerful for my power supply. Most of the settings were easy except for 3D which I had trouble getting it to work. The video quality is excellent.

This is the perfect card if you are upgrading an older system (as long as you have a PCI-E X16 slot). It's an excellent value and as long as you don't need to do more than drive a 1280x1024 display with a DVI cable you should be fine. I use it with Fedora Linux and the nVidia drivers for X-Windows work flawlessly. I can recommend this card with no hesitation at all.

Replaced the Intel shared video with the board with
no problems whatever. I made sure to download the latest drivers from the manufacturer's website. |
