A few months ago I would've pay $500+ for a 6800Ultra that couldn't even compete against the performance of this $330 7800GT card. This video card stepped on everything I threw at it, with full force. Along with my Athlon64 4200+ X2 and 1GB ram, there was no game out there that could stall my fun, at least not while I'm equipped with this fierce card.

Although you don't really need to overclock this card, I was disappointed that my 6800 was able to overclock better than this 7800GT. Even my 6800go overclocked better. Don't worry about the temperature, it will stay warm, but nothing will blow up. I went further by replacing the heatsink with the Zalman heatsink, which is made for the 6800, but will fit fine with this card.

My only complaint with this card is that the VIVO feature didn't work as well as I expected. Even though there's the driver on their website to enable this VIVO feature, it is still beta, and has bugs. If you don't plan on using this feature excessively, it will work fine with Windows Movie Maker for recording your favorite TV shows. Just don't expect any automatic scheduler, time-shifting, etc. I was able to record a 2hr program perfectly.

This card outputs by DVI or VGA adaptor which is included, component video (green/blue/red), and s-video. Inputs are composite video (yellow) or s-video. Dual monitor is supported and works as expected. It also uses another type of power plug, but don't worry because an adaptor is also included.

Now for the games. You won't get anything below 30FPS. All the latest games are no match for this bad boy. The most intense game I've played on this card was F.E.A.R, which averaged at 45FPS, which means it's smooth as butter. Other games that I've played on this card without any trouble: Quake4, Need4Speed:MW, Age of Empire3, Call of Duty2, Half Life 2, Battlefield2, SWAT4, Guild Wars, World of Warcraft, basically no game has ever fail to run. By the way, I scored 7000+ on 3DMark05.

Get this card, and say good-bye to lag. When this card gets cheaper, you can always get another one and put it on SLI for additional performance. Buy it now, and play at your own speed.

Where do I start? Performance is killer, install and drivers were straight forward. Never have thought once about it after the fact except how well it works.

The only negative was no Quake game which did honk me off for a few days. I did want to check it out, but was too busy to follow up to ask "what the hey?"

I purchased this card primarily for use with Battlefield 2. It is an awesome card and a great value for the money. I would highly recommend it.
