I just bought this set of CorningWare and to our dissapointment, the plastic covers were too small for both of the dishes. With a lot of effort - we were able to get one of the lids to fit, but there is no hope with the other one. It's unfortunate, because I thought the lids would come in handy for storing leftovers. Aside from the problem with the plastic lids - Corningware has continued to provide good quality dishware.

Love this series of product. Arrived well protected. Despite concerns from previous reviews about storage lids-lids DO fit. Got these because one or both of these will fit in microwave.

I own a lot of French White by Corning and I've given a lot of the varied sets to friends and family. I bougt this set because I thought it would work with a food carrier which I recently purchased that will keep cold foods cold and hot foods hot with the insertion of ice packs or hot packs in a zi[[er unit. The dimensions suggested that the plastic lids would work to create a lower profile. Wrong. These lids do not fit securely and are really a struggle to try to secure with no success.
As for the French White, I love the simple fluted design, the numerous sizes of dishes that will accomodate virtually any size casserole or dish, and its general ease of cleaning. If you coat it with a liberal spray on Pan, everything slides out. If you don't soak in soapy water and it is really easy to clean.
My only gripe her are these useless lids. If you were marketing something to fit and prevent leakage, wouldn't you want it to work. This does not live up to Corning's reputation.

I should have looked for this review before purchasing this set so I would have known about the lids. Some people will really be getting only a 4-piece set. It's true, as another reviewer has stated, that the plastic lids are virtually unusable on these two bowls. Now, if you happen to own the wonderful bowls Corningware manufactured in the U.S., you are in luck because the lids will fit those bowls. Fortunately for me, I'm in that category. I am quite disappointed that the bowls are stoneware and have the rough bottoms. My old bowls are not stoneware and have lovely, smooth bottoms, so there are no worries about scratching anything.

I love this stuff! I have had many sets of this corningware and I keep getting more. It comes in such a variety of sizes so I can always find the perfect one that I need. It can go in the microwave and the oven. And nothing I cook ever sticks to the inside of it when I clean it! I highly recommend this for your kitchen needs!
